The Patriots are falling apart just in time to get a top 2 or 3 draft pick so they can land a premier college QB. They have a lot of draft picks stockpiled that they could use to move up.

True, but since they signed Newton they are going to be drafting in my opinion in the 12 to 18 pick range so they are going to have to trade the farm to get a top quarterback

They are projected to have a 1st, 2nd, 2 third rounders and 3 fourth rounders. If they finished with the 12th pick they could easily package some picks if they wanted Trevor Lawrence or some other QB. You never know with Belichick.

That's true but I would think that the team drafting at number one probably would want that quarterback more than a hall of draft picks. Also Bill Belichick hasn't been known to give up the farm in trades, he usually takes advantage of trades not get fleeced. So I believe at the very best they might be able to get the second best or third best quarterback in the draft.
Bill Belichick isn't known to make that kind of move and I doubt he does. So we all need to hope New England finishes with eight or nine wins and misses the playoffs which I think is what exactly will happen

Meh, they didn't draft Clyde 1st to take a back seat to Williams.

I don't see why players are being paid anything if they opt out. Other employees certainly aren't being paid if they choose not to work due to COVID-19 concerns.
They are being paid 150,000 which is an advance on their 2021 salaries. They aren't getting paid there regular salaries.
Why pay them an advance? If they don't want to work, they shouldn't get a dime.

It's what the NFL, and NFLPA agreed upon.
