In the end it is who stays healthy not just football related, but in regards to the pandemic. If Reed stays healthy, Dwelley is gone. Woerner isprobably not going anywhere near the practice squad unless he stinks it up. Also, if Hurd stays healthy. Then Dwelley is really gone. Woerner is opposite of Dwelley in that Woerner is Celek's replacement more of a blocking TE, with unknown and tapped ability as a pass catcher.

I think since does not have the pressure of being TE1, he won't play as much and be exposed as much. His main problem seems to concussions. Good p/u in that if he is incentive signing, so if he gets a lot of money it is because he met his goals. Hopefully it is not a low bar.

The Niners should be able to carry all 4 TEs with one less QB this season. Dwelley won't make it past waivers if get cut, the Giants would claim him in a heartbeat.

This is a recurring theme for just about any coaching staff, but Kyle Shanahan especially has tended to sign players he's familiar with. Kyle and Mike Shanahan drafted new 49ers TE Jordan Reed in 2013's third round. That was their last season in Washington

Surprised he's only 28. He just seems like a broken down 34 year old. Good sign though as we likely won't ask much of him so hopefully that keeps him healthy. He likely can still ball.
