Usually the around talent gets wasted or you win maybe one superbowl. Rarely are there multiple wins without an elite qb.

The mix for what exactly? Rodgers won a SB in 2010 when he had a dominant defense. Hasn't been back since. The Seahawks won in 2014 when they had an elite defense and run game, haven't won since. These teams make it to the playoffs but then get worked by more complete teams. The 49ers have been to more conference championship games over the past 5 years than Seattle has, so how are they "in the mix?"

Out window shutting not opening. We had a great team with average qb now we either need to reload the entire roster or find a qb who will keep us in the mix every year. One of the two. Its a lot harder for a qb to carry when the offensive line is garbage too.

It just doesn't look pretty for us in general

Lmao
thafa what you got from watching this game??
ok then

Is it the wrong lesson to take away from the game when the team that brought in Tom Brady won the Super Bowl?
The lesson from this game is that you don't need to trade away Jimmy. You need to make the players around Jimmy better.

If you have an elite qb your always in it every year. Look at the Packers just throwing draft picks away every year and the Seahawks. There in the mix every year.

Is Brady still physically elite? I would say physically Brady and Jimmy are about the same.

That's a little scary since they're like 15 years apart in age. Yikes.

The point is that it's stupid to trade away Jimmy when you have glaring holes on the team.

No, the window isn't, but we need to restock. The cupboard is bare. If we had the OL Tampa has last yr, Jimmy completes that pass to Emmanuel Sanders. Speaking of which, we need another deep playmaker threat like him. Gotta replace T Buck, Kinlaw isn't gonna get it down. Also need a shutdown corner for players like Metcalf and Hopkins.

The lesson from this game is that you don't need to trade away Jimmy. You need to make the players around Jimmy better.

The team that upgraded from their mediocre QB because he was holding the team back went on to win the Super Bowl. How does that translate to the lesson being keep Jimmy and just try to surround him with more talented players?

Yeah imagine if the niners drafted like the Packers or the seahawks. We would be the browns or lions. Fighting to not go 0-16 each year. Both teams get away with it every year and make the playoffs and have a shot at winning a sb.

I mean I don't have to mention mahomes, or breeze, or peyton manning, or any of the other elite qbs but I will anyway. If your qb is elite your always in the playoffs trying to win a sb. When your like the niners and rams you can get close with every other position being dominant for a few years but the windows are short followed by years of reloading the roster.

An elite qb puts you in the playoffs with a shot at a sb their entire career. If you don't have one you need to either get insanely lucky and go on a role or have elite recievers, tight ends, oline and a dominant defense. Then you only get a small shot for a few years like the jags had, rams, eagles, etc...

Once again, this is a terrible comparison. Tampa with Winston finished 7-9 and out of the playoffs. The 49ers with Garoppolo went 13-3 and ended up in the SuperBowl. Winston isn't mediocre, he's a bad quarterback. Tampa wasn't losing anything by moving on from him.

Obviously Tom Brady showed him he was wrong!! Brady did not rush for one yard....ONE f**kIN YARD!!!

Tom Bradys come along every what,... 100 years or so? Correlation doesn't equal causation with him. Our style of play could certainly use a guy that can move around a little better.

Packers haven't made the SB since 2010. They've had Rodgers all that time. They go to the playoffs, each year they lose, maybe their window is closed?

Maybe they were already thinking that with their draft this year and it seems like every year since 2010.

But they still keep going to the playoffs every year. Are you saying you would rather not have aaron rodgers as your qb? You would rather have any of the other teams without franchise quarterbacks since then?

I hope Kerry didn't play himself into a contract the 9ers can't afford.

Packers and Seahawks aren't picking top 6 every year like us. We hit the easy ones but it's different when you're a consistent winner like they are. You only get Bosa at #2.

Pocket passing is an integral part of the NFL game. Statue Quarterbacks are not,...you're just stuck in your old ways.

This isin't a two way street,....as players that can run without tripping over their own two feet can still pass from the pocket and be excellent at it,..but the reverse argument can't be made. If you can't move, you can't move.

And again,...how often do you expect to come across a guy like Tom Brady? I wouldn't use him as my basis for clamoring for more players that can't move around.

This offense could use a guy that can use his legs as well. Doesn't mean he needs to run a 4.4 and look like Lamar Jackson, or even Steve Young for that matter. These are just old stereotypes that refuse to die.

The game would've been closer had the Chiefs receivers caught a couple of good and great passes from Mahomes. The 2 major things that won the game for the Buc as compared to the Niners of last year. Their better secondary, they were able to contest most of those backyard passes downfield by Mahomes while he was scrambling.

Their pass rush was better as a unit than Niners. Especially the DE. They were quick to chase down Mahomes, made him doing figure 8 trying to get away. We had Bosa, but a gimpy Ford. He could rush the passer, but can't chase anyone down when he get there. As I'm writing this, I'm with replacing Ford.
