Does this season's SB champs already have an asterisk*??

I bet if we were contending and in the thick of the race we wouldn't be even having this conversation. This is no different than a lockout shortage season.

Things happen no excuses

We play to win the game

Ya having to play without a QB, is normal, things happen. Lol

The asterisk for me is about some teams being accommodated by having games postponed or rescheduled due to COVID concerns and other teams being forced to play. That Denver situation was inexcusable. Nothing should have stopped the NFL from postponing that game by a day or two to give them a chance to put an actual QB on the field. They could have done the same thing for the Niners against Green Bay.

The broncos situation was bad I agree.
but to say that this seasons champ has an asterisk ehhhhhhh
Not at all, they all still played a full season and playoffs with no gap between. If anything it's harder to overcome the adversity and regulations.
With no home field advantage anywhere it's hard for me to say the team that wins the SB is the best team in the NFL. Going to certain stadiums/fan bases in the playoffs says a lot about teams who win on the road.
let's face it. It does NOT feel like super bowl season.
NFL season was legit. The NBA season was half legit. The MLB season was a total exhibition. The entire playoffs and all awards given out should not be recognized.
No. Cause I know damn well if we were in the bowl we would be defending the season. Every fan would. You can argue it made it tougher.
It's a bizarre season, yes, but the differences of this season shouldn't detract from the winner this season. Yes, some teams were really screwed over by COVID and the rules around it... Many teams, including us, badly suffered from injury, and it's likely that the lack of a preseason and proper training camp that played a huge role in that.

But at the end of day, games were played. The Browns played without their head coach and core members of their coaching staff, had minimal practice time, and still beat the Steelers in the playoffs.

Players put in a lot of work, and you can argue, that this season is even more taxing trying to abide by the NFL's COVID rules. At one point, Shanahan shared that he told his players to support eachother in their mental health. At the end of the season, the team felt a sense of relief that the season was over. This was a difficult season. KC or TB winning it definitely deserves their trophy.

Yes. Dodgers lakers and this year's superbowl winner, all asterisks.

Especially the Lakers.

I disagree with this post. Baseball EASILY had the most gimmicky not real season of the three sports. The NFL is the closest to real out of the three.

JFC no. Does MLB have one for their War ridden years? No. Just says by the players name if they served. It's a legitimate year whether ya like it or not. They started from start to finish.

The NBA and their bubble .. nobody cared too much for that (ratings say it all) but that felt like an over glorified AAU tournament. NFL week in and week out batted through and the playing field was level with no fans.

MLB... that's a weird one since both parties were p***yfooting it to come to an agreement but I'd still say no.

That's what I was worried about if we had gone to the SB again; people calling us Covid Champs. But it seems covid restrictions is the new normal. I just hope the SC comrades don't kick us out of our stadium again.
Nah, there shouldn't have been a season, but that doesn't take away from be being the ones who made it through the chaos to get to the end.
***asterisk season***
What is an asterisk ?
