Better be that or the o-line needs to be better
I foresee this thread getting bumped after every loss lmao

Wilson could go #2 overall to the Jets, it isn't out of the realm of possibility. Nothing Lynch can do in such a scenario so you can't go putting all the eggs in the ZW basket.

Yes, the ourlads source is the one I'm criticizing and challenging. For one, MY source lists Mahomes combine throwing speed at 60, not 55 (and what is more reasonable: that Jimmy has a stronger arm than Mahomes or the other way around). Secondly, my VIDEO shows that Mahomes when seriously throwing easily gets 58 consistently and up to 62 when trying.

When I was studying physics in college, one thing we had ingrained into us: when measuring something, or calculating something, always ask yourself if it makes sense with respect to what you already know. For example, if you calculated a force but got units of energy, you know something is wrong with your set up. Likewise, if your source has Mahomes with a weaker arm than Jimmy, somewhere along the line a mistake has been made.

There is no place on this planet where Jimmy has a stronger arm than Mahomes.

Lastly, again, even if Jimmy did throw 56 mph at the combine (which is solidly above average, but definitely not elite at all), in actual games he consistently lifts his feet in a way that prevents him from following through. That helps him on short passes when throwing under pressure, but it kills his deep ball power and accuracy. Mahomes doesn't have this problem BECAUSE his arm is so strong. But Jimmy? He simply does not have the arm strength to play the way he TRIES to (fundamentally unsound).

I hear what you are saying. You seem to be fixated on simply the Mahomes portion of this. The fact is even YOUR source has all the other QBs the same as MY source.

So eliminate Mahomes from the discussion and my point remains that it's not just about arm strength but also willingness of throwing it deep.

As you can see from this chart he seems to be accurate when he throws it (lifting his foot or not) he just doesn't throw it enough.

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2020/2019-20-deep-ball-project

Not alot of strong arms at the top of that list

Yeah, it had the same Jimmy passer rate. But did you see my vid to Catch80? It's not just about willingness. It's also MECHANICS. At about 7:45 it goes into it. Jimmy has some massive mechanical flaws that completely screw up his deep throwing.

As for your footballoutsiders link, stats, especially subjective ones like whether or not a pass is accurate, are never going to tell more than the video itself shows. He has mechanical flaws and it messes up his deep throw. No stat website you can find is going to undermine that reality.

Additional note: good accuracy at 21 yards is not the same as deep accuracy. I don't know why that arbitrary number is used, when many times a deep pass travels further than that. Regardless, it's a subjective stat.

I wouldn't say nothing. The Jets could decide on sticking with Darnold and take Sewell there or trade out of there.

I meant nothing Lynch can do if the Jets decide Wilson is their guy at #2.

Obviously if they choose to stick with SD, then the door is open.
We have a chance imo.
With a top 10 pick and the Jets at #2 we have a real chance of landing Wilson because I think the Jets might decide to keep Darnold and draft Sewell.

Maybe a tiny trade up and Wilson would be ours
Jets at 1 guaranteed Lawrence being the guy

Jets at 2 doesn't guarantee they go QB.

I just don't see NY selecting a RT at #2 overall.

If Wilson goes 2, that leaves Fields, who is beastly. Might need more polish, but he's more talented.
