Just because you draft a QB in the first doesn't mean it's a throwaway season. Most teams that draft a QB in the first aren't very good in the first place so they usually don't even make the playoffs.

Based on everything I know about Shanahan, I don't see anyway he turns over his offense to a rookie QB. I think if Garoppolo isn't the QB next year then it'll be someone like Cousins.

I don't have a problem with Matt Ryan but how do we fix the O-line and fill holes on defense if we take on his contract ?

First off you need to give up all hope that Richburg is coming back healthy. Next, you get either Corey Linsley or Alex Mack in free agency, boom problem solved!!!

I won't lose my mind, but tbh, its pretty much what I expect the brain trust to do. They are so scared. They will never draft a QB in the first round again after the Alex Smith debacle

They still got the same scouts that are working there and collectively making draft boards. To me, it has not been surprising that we are still drafting defensive linemen in the first round despite Baalke leaving in 2016. What has really changed with our draft philosophy?

Also, we still sign and draft injured players with ACL tears to find "value".

When you draft a QB, you basically have to acknowledge that you're probably passing up other better players at other positions and foregoing the BPA. Something that this organization hardly does.

A mobile QB from BYU?? I like this kinda party! Give him #8.
