Zach Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos

Yup, that's the biggest issue with the trade. I've seen some snippets but am reluctant to watch him as I'm pretty convinced that he'll be out of reach.

no one is out of reach. it's just how bad do you want the guy

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like a trade like this seems reasonable. But I have no idea how value charts work

Thats a steal imo. Usually trading up in the top 10 usually requires 2 1st round picks

12 to 7 is only 300 point difference, that's actually more than enough. It just depends if lions are willing to trade.

If he does, we're pulling the trigger.
how could you not.. but why wait and chance it.

I like Wilson but I'm not fully convinced that this is some can't miss prospect. If Kyle does it, I'm on board 100%. Ditto with any Watson trade. But I'm not mad if we don't move up for Wilson. I do hope we at least inquire about Watson.

league year starts in March, draft is in late April. we will know the status on Watson way before the draft

Fairly reasonable trade to go from 12->3 and we get the 2nd best QB in the draft. Hopefully this happens.

I would rather trade for this kid than give up a bunch for Watson. It will cost less draft capital to trade up for Wilson and he will be on a Rookie contract for 5 seasons.

So, I couldn't help myself and have dialled up some games, watching Coastal in full, probably cut ups for the rest.

Early impression is very good, plus arm talent, ball comes out on time with plenty of zip but also touch.

Biggest thing so far, one of the commentators was saying how much film Wilson watches and another "this is the most impressive college QB I've ever spoken to".

Now these guys do production meetings and get a lot of info on these guys. Closest thing you can really get to evaluating intangibles. Wilson clearly has it in spades.

Really liking what I'm seeing, plenty of far sideline throws on a rope, those are NFL throws, and one ridiculous roll right throw back across his body on the run on a rope just before HT.

Yeah he threw a pick on the following Hail Mary, but he beat a sack and tossed it 60 yards. Me likey.
Now you can't support an attempted hurdle by your starting QB on 3rd & 30, but you've got to love the athleticism and toughness.

Big time hops

Looked like he missed an open slant on 2nd down though, hate not having All-22

So you are only watching this game looking for the positives and not looking objectively? Cause in addition to that one good throw you highlighted in the 1st half you would have seen quite a few bad passes including while under pressure.

Carry on.
What a game (heard it was on a podcast) final drive from Wilson was special, poise, escapability, accuracy. 2 yards short, might have had a better option, but gave his guy a chance, D just made a great play.

I'd like his footwork to be a bit crisper, but think it's correctable. I don't think he's quite the physical freak Lance is, but he has plenty enough of everything.

I'm not sure I can justify a trade to #2, but I'd call most teams after.

I'd give up next year's 1 in a heartbeat, but I don't want to ship much else, I think that's around 6 or 7. Will he still be there? I doubt it.

I also don't think he'll be better than Jimmy in year one, pretty confident by year 2 he would be and then some.

Well at least you seen he's not worth the #2. He is my 3rd favorite QB in this class but... Even half his completions are off target. His play action is straight trash. For all of his physical gifts he doesn't look all that great under pressure.

I understand the want for him just don't see him being worth a trade up. If he's there without trading up. Ok. But he is far from can't miss. If you look at the totality of his game and not just the couple unscripted plays he provides. No way he's worth 2 1sts let alone 2 1sts and 2 2nds.

No, I think he could maybe have seen more of the blitzes but I think he only actually made 3 bad throws, 1 sailed on him, 2 in the dirt from pressure.

Not a Trevor Lawrence but a very nice prospect

If you like Mac Jones more than him then I just don't know what to say. I'd concede that Mac was probably the better college QB this year, but miles behind as an NFL prospect.
