Zach Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos

That's fair, but if you consider our roster we don't need that much more talent, we need to keep the guys we're struggling to pay. A QB on a rookie deal helps that.

You have to be careful who you trade with, as you don't want the 2nd rounder(s) you get back to be in the 60's, but if they're in the 40's you're laughing.

There's no combine no private visits, I mean you can't really spend much time with these prospects this yr. IMO teams aren't gonna throw stupid draft capital to move up this yr, if a team wants to move down... I don't think they're gonna be finding all of these multiple 1st rd picks waiting at their doorstep.
Interesting note I've heard. Apparently Matt Rhule recruited Wilson.

I think the Eagles might be a great trade partner, they're in cap hell and could use all the picks they can get.
I think I've finished Wilson, and this is why I didn't want to watch him! I'm very impressed, I think the Jets should take him #2.

I'm not concerned about the accuracy, he does have a tendency to lose ball placement but I think it's all linked to his footwork. His arm talent is so ridiculous that sometimes he doesn't get his feet working correctly, easily fixable and seems like the kind of kid to work at it.

Not worried about the field vision either, the system was very basic, sometimes sprung guys wide open, but it's not an NFL scheme, again I back the kid to learn.

Where you read that? Looking at his 24/7 and rival page I don't see Baylor anywhere on there.

Boom or bust, just some college kids sat around, not the greatest source, but they said it when discussing fits for Wilson. Was he Baylor then or last year at Temple?

screw the basic principles. He can throw hard and run fast(er).

Sometimes you've got to back the kid, everything I've heard and all the interviews I've seen lead me to believe he'll work his @ss off.

Same for Mac Jones as well, difference is that one of them is physically gifted.

Same footwork issues webzine has complained about Jimmy G....and still complaining but sure Wilson will fix it easily, right?

(just playing devil's advocate)

Wilson's OC at BYU is now the OC for Baylor. That may be the correlation between Baylor and Wilson. I'm not sure I'd Coach Rhule was interested in him or not while he was at Baylor.

I think they're different, it's kind of like Mahomes, Allen and Kyler's footwork issues, their arms are so gifted and they can throw from different angles, so sometimes that comes first for them over consistent footwork.

They soon realise that when their footwork is great the ball goes where they want it to more consistently.

Baylor and temple didn't offer/recruit him either...he wasn't recruited by Rhule...Iowa, Minnesota, Oregon State, California, Syracuse, Boise State and BYU were the one that recruited him. He wanted to play for Utah and chose to stay in state with BYU.

Yeah that's not a correlation to him and Rhule. Thanks for clearing it up.

Yup I was gonna say this...you can have subpar footwork when you have a gifted arm. Same thing with Rogers who's always throwing off his backfoot. Like you said you would like it all to be perfect and that's something that can be corrected.

He throws on the run exceptionally well also. I'm just hoping we make a move for him on draft day.

Absolutely, QB's that rely on perfect footwork to throw well, then have issues under pressure or off platform.

Thing for me with Wilson is that you've seen great footwork, just needs to be more consistent.
