I agree, it would just be nice to know how much more impressive it is. I'm a huge fan of Wilson to the point where I'm not entirely convinced that Lawrence is better than him.

Some of the issues I've heard with Wilson (from scouts) is his size, injured shoulder (which can get cleared up when team doc check it out), and lack of competition.

We all see the film and no one is really arguing with that.

Yeah, I'm not really worried about his size. Dude could easily add a few pounds with NFL training and check in at 6-3 220+ or so. The shoulder is certainly worth looking into, and I wonder if that could cause him to fall. I feel like we have to be smarter about the position. If he's a great player, don't pass him up for some other need like CB or DE. You can always draft one of those later, trade for one, etc. -- we have resources, so we shouldn't feel forced to do any one thing.

His shoulder injury was a torn labrum. Same thing Kittle doesn't get repaired year after year. Obviously Wilson did because he's a QB but it doesn't seem to affect him at all when he throws, and his arm strength is great.
Wilson is my dude if we make the move up. Lawrence isn't happening. Wilson to me is the best fit for us outside of Lawrence.

Would rather trade up for Wilson than pay up for Watson. Yes Watson is a known commodity and one of the elite QBs in the game but I'm not trading away any of our core players to land Watson if we can get a guy like Wilson for just draft picks and control him for 5 years on a rookie deal.

I'm not too far off either. Trevor has got the prototypical size, and I think I just about give him arm strength. The difference is that Trevor has done it for 3 years and has a National championship.

It's closer than people would have you think.
With all these extra comp picks it is a no brainer to go get this guy.

I hope Wilson is within reach to trade up for. I would trade a 2nd round pick and two of the 3rd round comp picks to try and get into the top 10 for Wilson.

If we could get Wilson with only giving up that I'd be so happy

Well that's assuming the 9ers go from 12 to 9 or 10, that's pretty much my idea of within reach. Any further than that say 5 to 2 and IMO I think a 2022 1st round pick and a couple more picks will be involved.

I'd love that, but for me you're bringing a whole host of other teams to the party. The Colts, Football team, Bears, maybe even Steelers can scrape into the top 10, only us Panthers & Broncos can really get top 5.

If you believe in him our 1st next year needs to be considered. Plus I think we'll have to get to 7 at least. Wouldn't trust the Panthers passing.
Teams can always manipulate the draft to make up for lost picks. If we do trade up and still keep our 2nd this year we could trade back and maybe gain a pick next year. Same with the 3rd rounder.

I think the absolute lowest he goes (where we can move up) is 6 the philly. You have DET and CAR at 7/8 without question they would take Wilson and I won't be shocked if one of them move up to say the 2nd-4th pick overall.

You want Wilson you're gonna have to pay for him....which I'm fine with.

Funny how last year when folks said to trade down from 13 building with 2nd and 3rd rounders was frowned upon.

Now some of the same folks are wanting to trade multiple 1sts and touting how we can build the roster with the same mid round picks they turned their nose up at just 12 months ago.

I don't think anyone hated the idea of trading down for more picks, but many of us hated the specific scenario of missing out on Lamb/Jeudy/Ruggs. Ironically, we didn't go for any of them, lol.

I was really hoping that the Lions and Panthers got into the playoffs and did good this past season. Now we have two more teams looking for QB's. But who knows maybe Saleh helps the 9ers out and works a deal with Shanahan for the #2 overall pick?? Sure it's not his call but maybe he can have some influence there hopefully!!! But damn a move from #12 to #2 would have to include, #12 pick (for sure duh), #44, 3rd comp pick, #191 5th round pick, 2022 1st round pick, two 2022 3rd round picks and maybe another late rounder. IMO that should do it, the Rams went from #15 to #1 and gave up a similar trade and they also got a couple picks back in return a 4th round pick and a 6th round pick.

I would assume a trade would be slightly cheaper since the 9ers would only be moving up 10 spots.
