Zach Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos

Prefer Wilson over Stafford but we are in win now mode.

Stafford costs only #12 at most and Wilson #12 plus our 1st next year too and just a rookie.

I challenge anyone to rewatch that game and tell me how many good passes he made under pressure.

Yes he had a couple good runs but how many passes did he make under duress? I'm not talking about passes he made rolling out. I'm talking about under duress.

1st play of the game is a great demonstration of him under pressure, sees the outside rush, steps up and throws a dime to the outside just before the inside pressure gets home. Not his fault his TE held the guy.

There's definitely 2 or 3 he'd want back, but it's tough with no gameplanning and it appears no hot routes.

Not sure why you'd want to discount his throws on the run, the one across his body is special on a Mahomes/Rodgers level.

There's 1. Will need to fast forward to get to next one
I'd forgotten how good his last drive was from that game, back to the 8 after a holding penalty with 35 secs to go and 0 timeouts, 2nd&19. Ends with his WR stopped 2 yards short of paydirt.

This is what we want, a guy that can move the ball when the other team know that you're throwing every down.
Here's a vid of all his plays against coastal.

What I used
Yeah did that the 2nd time, watched the full game first time. I see what Kriz is saying, but I'm still extremely impressed.

Wilson would cost more then that probably. Teams will look at us and think that 1 next year will probably be late round pick.

Off topic, I still remember the raiders trading with the bears instead of the Niners for Khalil Mack. We lucked out because the pick for Nick Bosa would've been owned by the raiders.

And I bet Gruden's petty ass regrets that but instead I'm sure they're happy with Ferrell lol

BYU also had 0 prep time. I wish they played that game where there was a little more time in-between the days it was scheduled.
The O-line was not prepared at all. Some huge plays killed in holding calls. Neither was the D. Whole team looked off.

A lot of dropped passes in that game too. He is a bit reckless at times.

Yeah, first play of the video was a would-be 91 yard TD but for a holding call.

At the 3 minute mark he had a really nice play that the receiver dropped an easy catch. He was able to make some positive plays with his feet when the pocket broke down.

Definitely had some passes that were off though for sure. That throw across his body was a nice play but in the NFL that's gonna get you in trouble.
Interesting

This becomes the crux for all general managers when comparing quarterback talents. Do you take the incredible arm who threw outside the numbers to open receivers or the guy who showed that he can make NFL reads between the numbers but might not have an elite arm?

Wilson will need to get better in the intermediate part of the field, the 10-to-19-yard range. Only 43.5% of his throws to that level of the field were charted as accurate this season. Burrow was at 62.8% last season and has carried his accuracy to the NFL, as he ranked fifth in the league before his injury. But while Burrow threw the ball deep at an exceptional level in college, his deep-ball accuracy in the NFL was lacking. Among quarterbacks with at least 10 passes beyond 20 yards, he was 40th in percentage of throws charted as accurate.

I wonder how many of those passes were dropped? Because my initial review on him this year is that's where he was super accurate
