The question is can Shanahan coach the s**t out of him and mold him into a beast! That's what it's all about imo. Kyle's supposed to be that guy.

So get me the kid who they believe has all the physical tools and now Kyle can break him down and teach him. And Kyle basically passed on every single one of these guys so who knows wth he thinks. lol

I have no problem trading up for a QB even if he sits for a year or two as long as Kyle and co believe it - I'll give it a shot too.

Breaking him down would be the worst thing to do imo. You want him to stay the way he is, a confident risk taker who believes in his ability to make throws. You want him to improve, but you shouldn't try & make him something he isn't. Bo square peg round hole business, as it were.
Understood. I actually meant that mentally and from an x's o's perspective. Im assuming his mechanics were already good etc lol

I'd argue JG was a gunslinger when he arrived and now he's timid. So there's that.

Exactly. JG was a completely different player when he first got here compared to now. Wilson has pretty solid mechanics, the only gripe is that his base is wide but he's still exceptionally accurate downfield. You don't want to turn Wilson into a deer in the headlights like Jimmy is now.
Zach is the best combination of on-script QB+natural thrower+playmaker in the draft. I could definitely see Kyle liking him.

However, he's probably going to go super early, so I've given up and moved on.
Make that damn trade to #3 if possible.

2021 1st, 2nd, and 4th + a 2022 1st to land Wilson?

Hell to the yes.

This is the right play and id almost be happier we didn't land Stafford if we get Wilson. Sit him behind Jimmy or cut Jimmy I dont care.

Would be nice but this regime has shown zero to make me think they would be this aggressive and I hear the jets like Wilson.

Don't be shocked if Jets go defense with their pick. Saleh might try to model his year 1 off of Shanahan/Lynch's year 1 with rebuilding their defense first. If Wilson falls to the Dolphins pick, we have a chance.

Yeah, they'll pick two 1st round defensive busts.

They'd need to trade down, absolutely no defensive players worth #2. Sure if there was a Chase Young or Bosa.

There's absolutely a chance they fall in love with Fields though.

There might be a certain team Saleh might be friendly to trade down with

Saleh has no personnel powers. Those all reside with Joe Douglas and I highly doubt that he gives a crap about doing favors for the 49ers.

Me too, and out of all of the QBs not named Lawrence, he's the only one I've fallen in love with. He just seems to have that IT factor to me. I'll support whoever we draft and Jimmy too!
I think most of us want Wilson but also I think most of us know that ShanaLynch don´t have the guts to trade-up to #2 beceause that would mean giving up some future 1st rounders and these guys don´t have the courage to do it and move on from that mistake named Garoppolo.

BTW McVay/Snead have those guts ShanaLynch don´t because they must be thinking that somehow Garoppolo is going to turn into an elite QB the same way they thought the O-line was gonna be good last year.

How can you say they won't trade up ? When have we been in a position that we needed to trade up like that before with the current regime ?

You call guts at giving 2 firsts and more for a QB that's not going to last 4 years ?

There's guts and there's stupidity

The Rams used 6 draft picks on Goff and they had to pay the Lions more to take him off their hands lmao. That's stupidity.
A trade up from #12 to #2 or #3 shouldn't be as expensive.
