As one of 8 Captains, I can without hesitation say that Zach is one of them! I've seen what he's done on and off the field for the TEAM. This isn't a red flag, ask anyone apart of the organization and they'll tell you the way he lead by example AND got the best out of his peers..

Clearly Troy went to Zach's birthday party. We good.
Looks like he wasn't a captain initially but they made him one during the season.
Not gonna lie... when the initial captains were released I was SHOCKED Zach wasn't one of them. However, it's more of a positive that he didn't let that impact him and went on to earn it and then be named a captain for the rest of the season.

The statement is misleading and that should be corrected but he wasn't initially named as a captain. He became one during the season. Again, it's a non-story and really has no relevance. ZW is legit and a great player and teammate. https://t.co/C5kNZ67XTz

I'd really like to know what Chicago sends us in that scenario. Next season's 1st+?

Potentially, I think I'd take a 2nd & 3rd this year as well though.

Obviously Watson could change everything.

I'm pretty confident that Saleh takes Wilson, I think all this them keeping Darnold is BS.

If the plan from the start was not keeping Darnold, it certainly made no sense to admit that. Don't want to give up all trade leverage.

Depends how bad Chicago wants him. If they think he's their franchise QB, this year's second and next year's first could be the price.

It's absolutely not up to Saleh, I'm not even sure he would get anymore of a say than the coach in Draft Day!
No one knows whether or not they'll keep Darnold, I'm not even sure Joe Douglas knows yet, though I'm sure he has a good idea.

Why wouldn't he get a say? That instantly messes up the relationship between the coach and GM. It takes both GM and coach to make a winning team.

Joe Douglas is the only survivor of a house clean, sure he'll want a good working relationship, but at the end of the day it would be "well I hired you, and I sure as hell can fire you"
If Douglas believes in Sam, he'll be their QB.
Also why don't we think Saleh would be on board with Darnold? It's very easy to just blame Gase!
On a side note, thus is why I think coach & GM should be hired together if possible.

Makes it easy for them to say "well we love Wilson/Fields, so if you want one of them you have to blow us away".
It does make me feel that unless Fields goes #2, either to the Jets or in trade, we're unlikely to get him.
