Saleh walked into a great position. Being able to get a QB in this class without having to give up draft capital.
We had our opportunities just like Saleh in the beginning, but we settled for the Solomon Thomases and McGlinchys.
Bad drafting has cost us a franchise QB.

Best QB in the draft. My only concern is his frame. If he can stay healthy in he NFL I think he'll end up being better than Trevor.
Too bad we won't have a shot at him without giving up the whole farm. I was hoping he would kind of fall for some reason or other but it appears to be the opposite.

If he makes it past pick 3, I wouldn't mind if we traded up for him, as long as the price isn't insane. We seem to find reasonable deals in these situations. We need corners though, and if Trent Williams leaves us in free agency next week, we have an even bigger hole to fill. Literally

Yes, pretty much.
This one is on no one else other than Shanahan. Lynch even said he did tell Shanahan they may have to rethink after his smokescreen trip down to Mahomes' pro day because he saw Mahomes' insane ability with his own eyes. But, no Shanny decided to stick to the Solomon Thomas plan who turned out to be a complete bust.
As far as Zach Wilson goes, he is a goner, the Jets want him. But, I will say this, Shanahan and Lynch better get their act together to do damage control. This is their last chance and there is no more excuse. Next year, the QB draft class is supposed to be absolutely barren and the chances are we will be drafting even lower. I think they have now been cornered, so they better pull the pin in this draft. If Wilson is off the table, I can see Trey Lance as the guy, but it will still require trading up.

I'll entertain NYNiners thinking and say why not throw the table and the kitchen sink at the jets? This years first and second. Next years first, third, fourth. And even 2023 first and fifth. Something crazy and a bit extra that makes the Jets say wow. Of course they may want Wilson and won't even listen, but it wouldn't be because of a lacking offer.
If we believe he can be our QB for the next ten plus years is it really that bad? Also, we haven't exactly been nailing first round picks. We do better in the middle so this ain't horrible either. I'm pretty sure everyone would rather have Watson, Mahomes, or Jackson over McGlinchey, Thomas, Kinlaw etc. Bosa was the obvious choice and even he's already missed a damn year. Our first rounders have been very suspect.

I would be willing to give up our next three 1st rounders and more for him...Need to get this right and this kid has the "it" factor.

I think it's time to let this one go. Zero chance it happens. Darnold sucks, it's not like they have a good QB on their roster at all for 2021. The Jets have a ton of cap room, they'll bring in offensive talent: Chris Godwin, Hunter henry, etc. Better chance of landing Watson than Wilson at this point, especially if 49ers are giving up 3 #1s. 21 years old vs 25 years old, not that big of difference.

While it's not gonna happen, I don't think darnold sucks. I do think the Jets sucked real bad as a team/coaching staff for the past 3 yrs though.
