Zach Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos

We might have to trade up to get him even if we have a top 10 pick because the hype is gonna be insane the next months.

I´m guessing he´ll be the 2nd QB taken.

Zero chance he gets taken before fields. I don't know if he gets taken before lance either

I don´t know. He has a stronger arm than Fields and seems to make more NFL throws too. I can get that Fields plays with better competition but Wentz played at NDSU and he was the 2nd QB taken.

Mi prediction is that Wilson and Lance will get a lot of hype and they´ll climb up on the boards.
Just listened to a pod with Joe Theismann saying Wilson is the guy after lawrence.

Aka he might go top ten and be a bit too rich for us to go get him.

Maybe, right now 49ers picking in 14-15 range. But I think by the time this dumpster fire season ends they could be in top 10, maybe top 8 IMO.
I see zero chance he goes before fields. Fields has done nothing to diminish his preseason standing as QB2, and in fact, has only helped his stock thus far.

As for Wilson's NFL valuation, he is relatively small with a thin frame, has only one year displaying his elite traits with any consistency which has been against weak competition, and he does not have a mahomes/Rodgers/Allen level arm. This is not to say I wouldn't draft him high or that he doesn't have an elite arm, just that the NFL is likely to have the same reservations it has shown throughout history.

After Seattle, I was thinking that we would likely end up 7-9 with wins against GB, DAL, and one more win in the division. With today's news, I'm thinking 5-11. We may already be in range to draft him, and if not, we should be able to get to Miamis spot (from Houston) even if we have to give up a 2022 1st

Well said. ATM, I think he'll go in that Derek Carr range. He does look kind of small. That'll definitely hurt his stock if it's true.

There's no way he lasts into the 2nd round the way Carr did. Way too many QB hungry teams this year and with a few more good performances, the hype train will really take over. If guys like Dane Brugler are marveling over him, you know that he's been lighting up the radar of NFL scouts. Considering how early Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray both went, size really isn't as much of a consideration as it once was, especially with the current rules that offer QB's so much protection.

Third throw, very similar to Mahomes (off platform, avoided pressure, etc.). All those throws are reasons why we should draft him. If it boils down to it, make a deal with Miami for Houston's pick they own.

I agree. Fields will go probably even 1. Especially if he keeps this pace. Then who knows if Trevor leaves but if so then he'd be #2 is imagine. Then there's a lot of love on Lance.
I really like Wilson a lot. I'm thinking I'd really like to have him the most, but I think he's the #4 QB prospect coming out.

Not a chance. Fields is looking like the Heisman front runner right now. Fields arm is more than strong enough (not an issue at all), he plays in a much much much hard conference and plays vs better talent week in week out.

Lawrence and Fields will be the top 2 picks in the draft as long as they stay healthy.

Overall I don't think his frame is bad, he's the same size as Joe Burrow and Deshaun Watson. It won't be a selling point or a positive. His level of competition and the fact that he's kinda a one yr wonder (think he was injured last yr) will also drop him.

I would say he's got very very good arm level talent. Not Mahomes, but it will be a positive not a negative that's for sure. Athletic, great vision, and seems like a leader as well.

IMO he's a top 20 pick, but probably get's pushed up more because he's a QB. I'd love to take him and even possibly move up if we can.
