Let's goooo!
Hope he lasts cuz the hype train is well in effect. QBs always go early in drafts (ie Daniel Jones). Is 10-12 reasonable place to draft him? Too early? Too late? My way to early guess iat top 9 is Lawrence, Fields, Sewell, Surtain, Farley, Chase, D. Smith, Parsons, and Rousseau.

What's crazy is the hype that continues for Wilson, Lance, Mac, Trask could push some real talented players to us (Farley, Surtain, Parsons, Rousseau)
Checking back in to see if we signed him yet.

Totally agree, not sure Mac will garnish the hype of the others. Interesting scenario and I probably would add Sewell to that list too. Would love Surtain as a possible consolation prize.

Man, no way Sewell gets past the top 5, but hypothetically if he dropped to the niners, they better run to the stage with his name on the card.
I'm a lot more reserved than most of you guys when it comes to Quarterbacks. Wilson had surgery on his shoulder, and hurt his hand in 2019 missing some games. Maybe those injuries are no big deal, but with all the injuries lately with the 49ers it is easy to be concerned. If BYU keeps winning they will eventually have to play a top 20 team, and we will see how he plays. Boise State is a game I will be very interest in; which will be a much better evaluation than (Navy, Troy, LA Tech, UT San Antonio, Houston, Texas State, Western Kentucky, Northern Alabama coming up). If he rips up a solid BSU on the blue turf I'll be close to all in.

God, that blue field is such an eyesore . The Boise State game is this weekend right? Wilson just seems to have a natural feel for the game and it shows with the throws he makes. He trusts his reads instead of individual receivers (all QBs have their favorite target though), and spreads the ball around nicely. He has also shown that he moves safety's with his eyes to open up lanes for him to throw deep (a great skill to have).

9. New England Patriots — QB Zach Wilson, BYU

The New England Patriots are, for the second time in nearly 30 years, faced with uncertainty at the quarterback position and will be tasked with using a top-10 draft pick to secure their quarterback of the future. Barring a major slide to end the season, they won't be in position to draft the top prospects at the position, though, and will instead likely be the team to start the second run on quarterbacks.

With Lawrence, Fields and Lance off the board, the Patriots must decide between the athletic, playmaking style of Zach Wilson or the big arm and deep throwing of Mac Jones or even the pro-style distributing ways of Kyle Trask. And no one knows what the team's new type at quarterback is, exactly.

There were rumors in 2018 that the Patriots loved Baker Mayfield, which would tend to point toward Wilson as the most likely fit for the offense. He's a smaller quarterback, listed at 6'3" and 209 pounds, but a smooth passer with the tenacity to take downfield shots and the mobility to scramble and make plays with his feet.

He's also a three-year starter with tons of experience and tape the Patriots can evaluate to get a feel for his ability. That could tip his hand over Jones—a starter for just one full season—and Trask in an offense that values football IQ and mental reps.
Realistic options are Wilson or Lance depends how many games they lose rest of season. We know Lawrence is a Jet unless he stays in Clemson or the Pats purposedly chokes their games against them to leapfrog them. Fields could pretty much be taken by the Giants. The Jaguars would be taking the next QB, and maybe even Dallas if they decide they will move on from Dak.
But it's encouraging to see how deep this class is.

Lance staying in college would be devistating
There's a lot to like about Wilson...but one thing I'd caution is the level of competition. They play Boise St tomorrow night, so that's a game to watch. BYU isn't playing anything resembling a tough schedule...so I'd be careful trying to translate that to the NFL.

Everyone keeps mentioning level of competition. If that's the case then Lance should be rated below Wilson
