I guess I don't get what makes him a better prospect than Fields or Lance. I think people are putting him on a tier that he is not. I'm not saying he can't be a great QB. I'm saying his grade should be the same as the other guys.

San Fran is a quick flight and a 12 hour drive from his hometown.
I doubt it happens, but it does they'll make us draft their guy and then pay over the rate to trade.
That's what I was thinking a few posts up. The Jet Blue owners say they're not Jet Green and want to keep their kid on the west coast away from the NY media circus. SLC airport is a 1:15 min flight btw. But the family owns the airline, I doubt they're letting the kid drive 600 miles to SF.

Agreed. The Jets sent their GM, HC and OC to WIlson's Pro day, a very telling sign.

I agree he's on a tier with them, but I think the media separation is due to the multiple arm angles he can throw with. Mahomes has made that all the rage.
I see big risks though, he's the only one with a significant injury history and I can see many interceptions in his rookie year as he has that gunslinger mentally.

Yeah, almost certainly.

While I don't condone it we could always hope he pulls an Elway or Manning and tells the the Jets he doesn't want to play for them.

It's starting to hit me that we're going to miss out on Zach Wilson by 1 freakin' spot.

Imagine if Saleh took the Chargers job instead.

I think he made that play harder than it needed. He had an open man up the left side. Backer stepped up and corner was in outside leverage, safety was already in a backpeddle, and the backer in the middle was already moving to his right with the TE. That route was cutting in across the middle and nobody was going to be within 5 yards of him when he made the cut. Make that anticipation throw there and it should be an easy completion and then some. I don't think he ever got that deep into his reads though. I think he felt some pressure and bailed out, but sure seems like he had an opportunity to make that throw.

I'm actually with you here, Kolohe. I don't think Kyle makes this move for anyone else but Wilson, and I think Saleh has given Kyle some intel.
I think so too, there's no rule that head coaches can't talk to each other. lol

It's his ability to throw from any position. Combine that with his footwork in the pocket and he gets noticed. Nobody wants a QB in the pocket that has to move his feet in a running motion in order to move around. Coaches love the QB that can move around in the pocket while keeping fundamental throwing feet. This makes him capable of being ready to throw a hair of a second quicker than guys like Fields and Lance.
Mond has similar mobile throwing feet as well.

he is in his own Tier
He is not on Lawrence's level but he is definitely ahead of the fields, lance, and jones as a prospect
one reason why i dont think its Wilson is that Jimmy G wouldnt be on the team now. If he is traded/cut by then then i think Shannahan expects Wilson to fall but all indication is the top 2 picks are set and Wilson will be a Jet

He's the most natural "thrower" of the football in the entire class. Effortless, smooth and from multiple platforms and angles
