You late bro, here you go:

Just talking about it makes me sick to my stomach. Mac is not even in the same stratosphere as Wilson, Fields or Lance as a prospect and I think Shanny is the only coach in the NFL who would think he is and actually take him at 3 over the others

Like Fowler said on ESPN yesterday...SF hasn't leaked anything and everything being discussed is pure speculation. No inside sources. All he was told was they've interviewed all these guys multiple times.

we also have Kyle's presser to go off of and past comments from this season...none of that sounded like they wanted just another system QB.

I just can't see us making that type of trade up given how much we like our draft picks and not have someone specific in mind...while knowing who the first pick is and likely having strong intel Jets are going with Wilson.

I don't see them being so enamored with Wilson that they then move up to 2 but I guess anything is possible.

Even if that's true, who do they take? The most accurate, probably fastest QB in the draft? Or the blank slate who might have the strongest arm, and who's run more pro-style plays than the other guy?

Yeah man it sucks, but my fear is they really are considering Mac at 3. If I knew for certain that it would be Fields or Lance at 3, I wouldn't give away any more assets.

I wouldn't worry about it. Fields is going to be the pick. The early aggressive trade up to me is a clear indication that they saw that a top 2 QB was going to be available. I don't hate Mac but that's not him.

Watch us trade up to #2 and select... Mac Jones.

Agreed if the attempt was purely to trade up to 3. But I thought we had been trying to get somewhere into the top 5 for weeks. If Fields was the guy they wanted, I don't think they would have been confident he would be there at 5.

You call every team to get a better idea what their plans are as well as calculate if you can't end up with your pick at a cheaper cost. I don't put much weight into that. If we wanted Mac you wait until draft day and when some team misses out on their man you can move out at a much cheaper deal than what we paid for. Unless Jones was their 1 or 2 and they had Intel that he'd be gone at 4 or 5 but that's highly doubtful.

they went to 3 because they have a QB in mind and dont want to risk him falling

It could be Fields Lance or Jones - if they were truely fine with all 3 they would've moved to 5 or 6 for less of a haul

no way!

*IF* they do trade up its Zack Wilson. You don't trade up to #3 without first looking at every QB available at #3. I think its a given that they rank Zack Wilson higher, simply because I think they went for the gold and tried to trade up to #1 and #2 and were rejected. Thats why they are at #3.

Totally agree.

All of these statements could be true or could be misinformation. The only thing we know is they did execute a trade to #3 for a substantial, career-risking amount. Whether it's because the value they were getting at #4 and #5 were similar, or whether they have serious concerns their guy was going to be picked by ATL, or whether they still plan to move to #2, nothing is know outside of three things:

1) they made the trade which hitches Shanahan/Lynch's careers to the outcome;
2) it will be for a QB; and
3) there are AT LEAST 3 QBs they value enough to make he trade.

Everything else is palm-reading and tea leaves...
My day-dreaming scenario is that on Wilson's Pro Day, Selah and Shanny/Lynch discussed who they wanted without naming names. Selah reveals (intimates) they want Fields and then Shanny/Lynch initiate the previous talked about deal with the Dolphins, thereby ensuring they get Wilson at #3.

That would be so sweet if it goes like that!
