It's not the jets for me. I'm concerned cause I assume Panthers really like Mac and now with this it leads me to believe now that they suspect we're getting Mr. Jones. I always knew NY would grab a qb.
Or Rhule sees a big turnaround opportunity with Darnold. Now instead of going QB, Carolina can add a heavy duty offensive weapon. Imagine adding Pitts, Chase or Waddle to the current talent they have. Not bad.
Agreed. Smart move by him. He can see if they have something there with D'Arnold. Regardless of how it went in NY, he WAS regarded as a first round pick in 2018. I thought the price was steep, but I suppose he's betting on his ability to develop D'Arnold. With that said, it's no pressure on their part. If a QB falls to them, great. If one doesn't, he can get one of the receivers. The interesting thing is, now Carolina has to make the decision on that 5th year option.
I'm not understanding this the Jets will ruin Zach Wilson talk. They've got a pretty good offensive staff there. I also like that Saleh is bringing in younger coaches. Leonard Hankerson is an offensive assistant- are we THAT old? Some of the takes being made are just silly. Wilson is going to get some of the best offensive coaching and NY is off to a good start. My guess is that they go O-line with the second pick. Now will he be the starter day 1? I wouldn't if I were them (save for Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck type of readiness, I'd sit virtually all rookie QBs). But Wilson is going into a far better situation than Sam D'Arnold did. And that is no disrespect to Todd Bowles. I just don't think he had the offensive staff in place to develop a rookie QB.
