That's who I'm eyeing as well as the Giants. They can take our trash (Ward, Ford and Ahkello) if they want also. Ahkellos old college teammate can vouch for him on the Cowboys.

That division could get wild down the stretch. They're all still fighting for the division. Regardless of where we are picking, it will take a team in the top 5 to trade with for us to get him though

The #3 slot is all John should be concerned with. Get up to 3 and you will hopefully land your franchise QB.

The 3rd pick should be perfect for us.

1. Jets - Lawrence
2. Jaguars/ WFT- Fields
3. SF (via trade) - Wilson

Steve Young talking about Wilson today...

"The kid is a really good player," Young said Wednesday on KNBR's Tolbert, Krueger & Brooks show. "I mean, I'm not going to say he's Patrick Mahomes, but I'm saying he plays like Patrick Mahomes. There's no throw he can't make, and he's just intuitive and really present when he's playing. Every week, you're like, 'Wow. This is something good.'"

"There's no question that he's capable (of running it)," Young declared. "The more they ask of him, the better he gets."

That's good because Shanahan's offense tends to take some time to absorb and master.

"He has the grit," Young continued. "He's a kid that Friday practice would end at noon, and then during COVID, and then he'd get in a car and drive down to get that special tutor(ing) from (QB coach) John Beck in San Diego. He'd drive down every weekend, and then come back on Sunday night for like six, seven, eight weeks. He's super serious about it.

"I think he's going to go in the first round. I don't know; he's the kind of kid, when you watch him, you go, 'Wait a second. Why is he not maybe the first guy (drafted)?'

"I get that Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields are phenomenal football players but the more I watch this kid, I don't see flaws. I don't see problems."

listening now

I love listening to Young talk about football

I listened to him all the time on KNBR last year. especially mid season to the end and throughout the post season. havent found the time this season

Agree. The only thing that could possibly happen is Wilson goes ahead of Fields at #2, but I don't think it will

can he drop it into a bucket or have some air under it ?

This is a dime...should have been caught

Shanny loves this play-action pass

That first throw gave me goosebumps.
It would be nice to watch a QB in red & gold throw deep again and put it on the money every now and then. I'm over these wounded 🦆 throws.

i meant more of a russel rainbow in the bucket throw. a lot of those zip line throws can bounce off hands and PBUs in the NFL. I like the highlights in the thread, but can he throw it over the DB and let the receiver run to it where only the WR has a chance to get it. then i'm sold

He can make every single throw you want him to make...including in the bucket throws.

Spoons a FA
Going to be many disappointed fans when we don't land him. Unless we lose out, relying on potential trades to get a rising QB in the draft is going to be tough. Based on what I have seen and heard I would like to draft him but not getting my hopes up.

That's the best thing I've read in a while

McGlinchey and/or Ward could be included in any trade up deal.

How good would Jimmy look on BYU playing Troy?

The FO should be willing to trade / give up just about anything to get Wilson. If it takes 3 years of first round picks and something more to move up to get him, so be it. We need a QB like him to be competitive long term in this division where R. Wilson, Murray and Goff reside. No more settling for the castoffs of other teams, reclamation projects (Darnold ), or old veterans like Ryan or Cousins. We need to get young and dynamic at the QB position like the rest of the NFL is moving toward. Just my 2c.

Unless all 3 starting CBs get hurt, I wouldn't be shocked if he's played his last snap in SF.

who cares? I'm sure any pro is gonna look fine. He's also got about $50M coming his way the next two yrs He clearly isn't anything but a game manager at this point. Our HC doesn't trust him.
