Zach Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos

This guy is NOTHING like Manziel. A Mahomes' comp is more accurate.

I've seen him compared to Mayfield, Manziel, Brett Favre, Kyler Murray..etc

The nickname came because of how he manipulated the pocket in a win against USC and created big plays out of seemingly nothing while being chased all over the place by a much more talented/athletic team (a la Manziel against Alabama). So he has that in him, but he's been much more of a Mahomes light this season.

we're closer to top 10!
He does play like Manziel in some ways, but so does Mahomes. That's a stylistic comparison, not a traits comparison. Zach Wilson's arm talent is worlds better than Manziel.

So he's a better prospect than #1 pick Mayfield? And he's consensus #3 QB in this draft?

Baker shouldn't have been the top pick in that draft imo

Lawrence & fields are studs...I also wouldn't call Wilson the consensus #3 Lance is right there.

I'm guessing that after Lawrence and Fields the decision may come down to combine interviews and on field results. There are about 3 or 4 guys that could end up as the number 3 pick. It's not even about who;s the best since abilities are close. It may just come down to who fits the best.

I'm not as high on Fields. I think Wilson should be the second pick even though Fields is more physically gifted.

#12 right now and could move up again during our bye week My son in this offense would unlock Kyle's playbook completely and we would be an unbelievable offense with all of our guys back, then you add in a healthy defense and being able to sign some guys with the cap we'd save without Jimmy

what overall pick do you think we could be worst case scenario to have a shot at grabbing him?
Man, I just know I am just going to spend all season getting my hopes up for this kid just like I did Mahomes.

Worst case scenario? I'd say picking at 15, so many worse teams than us even with all our injuries. In any scenario, I see us having to trade up with someone for a shot at Wilson, into the top 5, 3rd overall to be sure.

Let's hope that Alex Smith balls out the rest of the year. I forgot he is only in year 2 of a 5 year deal with Washington, and they did trade picks for him IIRC.

OOF there I go giving myself hope again...

I'm thinking he's going to rise in the rankings, and it just might. But at this point we need an better QB and one that is MUCH cheaper than Jimmy. I feel you should draft at least one QB every draft, like Bill Walsh would say. If I were to draft one, given we won't be picking first, I'm thinking it's him.

I think you're right. His stock is going to rise. If you're sitting on the top pick and you get a mega offer for TL and only have to move back a couple spots and still land ZW I can see a lot of teams willing to do that. It sucks for us, every year there's true franchise QBs available we're too far back but if we have a high pick there's not a sure fire franchise QB, well unless you count 2005
