Looked like he had a pretty good first step in college.

Most likely. Even if Ford is healthy next week he will blink wrong and go back on ir.Originally posted by Bluesbro:Does this mean Ford is done for the year? Best guess is probably.

This dudes production has been the bottom 15%
No one should even care about this trade until he makes it into a game and makes a play.
Lol people should learn to relax.
I mean I don't think anyone is getting wild over it. 73rd pick in the draft with elite athletic traits who's played on two awful teams...I'll take some of that over just Dion Jordan and the possibly of AA playing inside

He's playing RDE here (60). The super slow spin move while backing into the QB.
This move is part of his repertoire. Starting at :27

Tully banta Cain the spin cycle part 2
Also has a couple of sacks on Mahomes starting at :57

People complain about the possibility of using high end draft capital on a trade and people complain trading for someone for basically nothing

When you read the stories about this trade , the wording is very strange. It says a 2022 6th rounder for Willis and a 2021 7th rounder. The way it's worded it could mean that we are getting a 2021 7th rounder or we are also giving up a 2021 7th rounder. I can understand why people are confused. They should have said the Niners are getting Willis and a Jets 2021 7th round pick in exchange for the Niners 6th rounder in 2022. I'm wondering if a trade was made at all. If the Niners are getting the 2021 7th rounder plus Willis then that's a pretty good trade. Even if Willis doesn't pan out, I'd rather have the Jets 7th rounder in 2021 than our 6th rounder in 2022, especially if that pick is the Jets own 7th rounder.

So we got nothing for basically nothing. Nothing to see here.

Low risk, maybe a reward. Good trade for our needs.

In Willis's defense, he got drafted by the Bengals with Dunlap, Johnson/Lawson, and Hubbard at DE. Pretty stacked at the position. Then he went thru a coaching change and got cut. Jets picked him up, but a lot of their issues are scheme/coaching related in addition to lack of talent.
I love this move. Low risk. Potentially high reward. And it seems like the 49ers do a good job regarding trades. Garoppolo. Ford (when healthy). Sanders. Tomlinson.
He's going to be well coached and will get playing time. Game on!

Do you even Webzone? They could have just acquired the love child of Reggie White and Lawrence Taylor and someone would still be unhappy.

Last time we traded for a high draft pick from Cincinnati it was Justin Smith. Just Saying.
I remember really hoping the 49ers took him in that 2017 Draft. Hope Coach Kocerek can get the best out of him. Alot of potential to work with.
