Isn't the plan to sign Warner long term this year, before the season starts? I assume that a huge chunk will be signing bonus and hit this years cap. Correct me if I'm wrong AB.
Wrong place at the wrong time OR he couldn't afford the consulting service.

Either way, it sucks.

Check two of my latest article on 49erscap.com, showing what the 49ers really have in cap room, and yes the idea is to extend Warner this offseason.

On the real though, they'll have to use more AA at end. Ford, Willis and Bosa all need to be very slowly worked in or aren't going to be available early and often. I hope the FO brings in another veteran now to get them ready for the season and for a 6-game try out.

AA at end is kinda meh. His jump off the snap is well documented as being one of the slowest in the dline and we'll, he's shown he's really at his best on the inside.

lol now thats BS, AA is def not the slowest. He's actually faster than Buckner and AA is always in the backfield

to someone who doesn't pay attention would say that. but the games are there to watch if you want. i certainly watched Bucks games last year
So Willis is getting some real love this TC...I'm glad to hear about it (last NN recap)

Jordan Willis

No other way to put this; Willis has not only been one of the best defensive linemen during training camp but has been one of the best players at ANY position over the last couple of weeks.
Willis is a tremendous athlete, and for the most part, his assignment is simple - (get to the quarterback) - allowing him to maximize his physical gifts and focus on pinning his ears back to get upfield in a hurry to disrupt the rhythm of opposing quarterbacks.
Willis will likely be placed on the reserve/suspended list while he serves his six-game suspension to start the season, but he has played so well that I have a hard time seeing the 49ers not having a plan to keep a roster spot clear and/or flexible enough for his return following Week 6.

His athletic traits in the 2017 draft class were pretty wild, now all he has to do is rush the passer and it sounds like he's been doing that very will so far.

Sucks he's suspended for 6 games, did he even get to file an appeal? Overall I'm glad we're hearing some good stuff from all these depth EDGE guys (Key/Willis)…. and Ford? well that's just been news no one in here thought we'd be hearing

It'll be great to get him back after 6 games, indeed. Even moderate pass rushers will flourish here in this W9 with Kocurek and he seems to have found a home.

Where was all that dominate pass rushing in Detroit all those years? Coach K is a stud, I think having the FO target the right guys is part of it as well

Yeah definitely a mix of things. Bosa and Ford in 2019 would've been successful without Coach K...but adding him definitely helps ramp things up. Hard to see our pass rush being better than it was in 2019 but hopefully with the added depth it actually will be.

Yeah, and undoubtedly someone will be dinged up by then and it will be nice to have a fresh body that you know can apply some pressure.
