This. Signed him to put a hit on Wilson and then cut him because we don't condone that type of play. Lynch is playing chess while everyone else plays checkers

That's what I thought but I can't find anything that confirms the details.

Interesting. He was a prospect we talked about a lot in the pre-draft process, but some of his negatives were things I wasn't sure would make him a target for us. Was not high on him. Really has struggled to make an impact since being a 3rd round pick. Only 3 career sacks.

Yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan of Willis, either. I thought he didn't play close to as athletic as he tested.

But the dude did test insanely well at the combine. Kocurek's scheme always seems to improve or even prop up pass rushers, so I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a lot better here than he did in CIN/NY.

True.

I imagine he should play a little better, but not sure he's suddenly gonna be special.

If he plays just a little better then the trade was worth it.

Oh. So maybe the slow spin move is part of his arsenal and is deliberate. In the gif I posted, he moonwalks into a sack. Smooth.

Dude is definitely explosive and playing from a wide alignment should definitely help him.

Speed and wide9 go well together so let's see what Koceruk can do.
He's not very good but he might be the Niners best edge rusher with Bosa and Ford out.

Has he done anything besides guys who were first round picks?

Lynch/Shanahan give away draft picks like water. We just gave up 2 draft picks for a guy that hasn't been active the last 2 weeks for the Jets. The Jets have the worst roster in the NFL by far. He's also a free agent at seasons end.Our team is devastated by injury and we're giving away draft picks in a season where we have a 0% chance of winning the superbowl. In a year where the cap is going down significantly, have more free agents then I can count we're back to having only 5 2021 draft picks. We're in last place in the division and we're the ones who should be trading away players at the deadline. If Lnych /Shanahan think this team is going to win this season they have lost their minds.

Oh, that's giving away picks like water. Most of the previous post is, um, wrong. Just about the only parts that are right is that we are devastated by injuries (particularly to edge rushers) and that the Jets are bad.

None of this three sacks were very impressive. The best one is actually funny looking as he uses a technique I have never seen before.
He's playing RDE here (60). The super slow spin move while backing into the QB.

Mix a Dwight Freeney and a mix of my drunk uncle

It was a pick swap

Basically nothing
If we actually got Willis and a 7th round pick in 2021 for a 6th rounder in 2022 then it was a good trade. The article didn't say whether it was the Jets 7th rounder of one that they had from another team. if it's the Jets then it's like swapping 6th rounders and getting a player as well since the Jets are probably going to be picking 1st or 2nd.

Yes, the picks balance. Anything we get from the player is a bonus.
