I think it's a solid move. The 49ers need bodies at edge, and if they're going to gamble with a day-3 pick, why not gamble on a guy who tested like a borderline elite athlete? I don't see why people are whining.

He's also unaware that the end in a W9 is basically a hand in the dirt version of the 3-4 OLB. It's "3-4 principles in a 4-3"

He's also unaware that Saleh allows his edge rushers the flexibility to rush out of whatever stance they feel most comfortable. He's never forced his edge rushers to put their hand in the dirt. Elvis Dumervil, Cassius Marsh, Dee Ford, etc. all rushed standing up a lot.
Any DC that's forcing his edge rushers to play up or down is a clown. It's 2020.
