You get the point....
Can we stop with this dumb take?
A decade ago you heard the same thing about how, "three point shooting teams don't win in the playoffs because of its variance". Then when the Warriors won their first championship it was, "it was just a fluke due to injuries and it is still almost nearly impossible for three point shooting teams to win". Now only a couple years later the entire offensive systems of every single contender are reliant on three point shooting and if you can't spread the floor you are not going to see the floor in important moments.
Every single successful young QB outside of Jared Goff and Derek Carr have significantly more running ability than Mac Jones.

Before or after the DUI?
lol go look at mac Jones back in 2017 and then look at that video...nah dude kid was a twig back then.
There is absolutely no way he'd be talking about getting 100 mil before the season he had, this is definitely recent.
Like I said, much more likely he gets another DUI than Fields having issues with Epilepsy.
Is he going to be Manziel? I don't know, but I don't know how you could just dismiss this.

Drafting Mac Jones and quickly moving #10 is saying without having played a down in the NFL, Jones is the best (or better option) than the quarterbacks the 49ers have.

I personally don't think it is a big deal (I don't even think his DUI is a big deal). But he did say that he completely stopped partying after the DUI, and in that video he is 100% older than he was during his mug shot. So it does look like he wasn't completely truthful about the fact that he stopped partying.

Should we really set our bar that low that the prospect is better than the QBs the 49ers have? I want a guy with potential to be in discussions with Rodgers, Mahomes, Watson, Burrow, Herbert and Allen.

This is a good point. To point to the past and say that's definitely how it will be in the future. The game is evolving and its not a certainty that the "pure pocket" guys will be as prevalent over the next 10 years as they were over the last 10.

Meh. I'm now officially on the Jones bandwagon. He'll be fine with Kyle.
To the guys that are obsessed with his gut—you're a strange bunch lol

Agreed. I understand there's a window with this roster, but do we really want to draft the guy who may be a mid tier starting QB out the gate or the guy who can be top 5 in the league, albeit with time?

I'd agree with you, but maybe our stubborn head coach believes he doesn't need those guys to win.
