I know Jed doesn't want to interfere, and he shouldn't, but if the Mac stuff is serious and he sees that video he's going straight to Kyle and gonna have him at least reconsider Lance or Fields. Drafting a guy with a DUI and a video of you drunk (possibly more) at a club and possibly underage in the top 3 is not a good look, even if he is a good fit for the offense.

the one with him in the club?! Lol who cares??

I'm sure the owner of a multibillion dollar football team that just traded up a couple of years worth of 1st round picks cares a little. Especially at an essential position like QB.

Sir, that's what study hall in Tuscaloosa looks like. Same as when I was in school. They just didn't allow phones in then.

Watched Mac jones against Arkansas again. My favorite line by the non bias announcer "and it is another check down again."

Well pardon their strategy. Arkansas committed to keeping eight in coverage constantly so Bama dink and dunked them to death.

What does that have to do with Jones as a prospect?

There seems to be a lot of assumptions that Kyle prefers Jones. Just wondering , if Lance/Fields is the pick are you posters gonna say Lynch forced the pick on Kyle.

The final decision is going to be Kyle's and he'll pick whoever he feels will work the best in his offense, who can run it the way he likes. That could be any one of these guys so I'm not assuming anything, just hope that whoever he picks will be outrageously successful.

Well, Lynch already has kind of forced a QB on Shanahan in Jimmy, so I don't expect Kyle to concede in that war room. He's going to get his guy.

But in the event that Kyle capitulates to Lynch and the guy they draft doesn't become what Kyle wants, I expect Lynch to be fired before Shanahan can even attempt to leave. Jed York ain't letting Shanahan go if he can help it. He knows without Shanny, he's back to digging through dumpsters for the next Singletary or Tomsula, perenially losing and an empty Levi's stadium--aka the York family way.

If Shanahan gets pushed into taking a QB that he's not completely sold on and that guy flops, I imagine that Kyle would go on the warpath, firing Lynch, Peters and every single scout in the entire organization. He'd then go hire his dad as the new GM.

Maybe 'assumptions' was the wrong word. There seems to be a lot of 'wavering' , not just you, about who is making the selection. Whoever is picked is Kyles 1st choice, of those remaining QBs. If it is Lance/Fields, Kyle preferred them over Jones.

I would be lying if I say I didn't wish Kyle announced that he was drafting Jones on Monday just to f**k with everyone.

It doesnt, but it also shouldn't be a reason to not draft him.

Makes it hard to evaluate him. Sure he took what the defense gave him but basically layups without anyone trying to block him. Not one pass completed over 19 yards. Just tells you how easy he has it at times and how stacked that roster is. He also had chances to take a shot and when he did he threw a pick... called back due to a hit after the throw so still against him

At #3, we definitely want a guy who can make all the throws consistently.

But I wouldn't underestimate the importance of throwing short throws accurately. As physically gifted as Kaepernick was, I feel like he wouldn't be able to make some of the precise accurate, timed throws that our offense needs for big RAC plays. Remember, our offense is predicated built to have Kittle, Deebo, and Aiyuk running wild across the field.

It's actually one of Jimmy's strong points is that he throws very accurately in the short and intermediate range. Guys are generally catching the ball in stride.

I agree about Kap and that was really annoying about his game and I agree about short throws but just can't think of a successful nfl offense that pulled it off. When it worked people were saying mullens was our future and when taken away his flaws were exposed. Have the same fear here
