Yea, but this is what Chris Simms said about Josh Rosen when he was drafted by the Cardinals. Take it for what you will.

"A+. He was my second favorite QB in the entire draft. He's as safe as pick as you can make... He's a tennis prodigy... Prettiest thrower in the draft. Most pro-ready QB in this class. Most game-ready, most ready to go, day one. He's extremely accurate, a great decision maker and lightning fast processor, he's got great feel within the pocket, he's got a stronger arm than people give him credit for... he's Matt Ryan with a better arm."

Like I said, it's just his opinion. He's not infallible. I didn't share it with the intention of stating it as gospel, but just to make the observation that not everyone is down on Mac Jones as the pick.

Yea, and I'm fine with him having a different opinion on Jones than most. I just find it funny how similar the two evaluations sound. He basically refers to both of them as a better version of Matt Ryan.

He's really giving us the hard sell....I get it...and if we draft him I hope he's right...but if not, I think his credence in QB eval has to take a major dip.

I feel like Ryan was a better prospect coming out of college, Brees too if not for his height.

And Matt Ryan is fine...I don't dislike him, he's well above average, but he's come up short and hasn't been elite since KS left. Basically he's not exactly so special that should be the limit of our expectations when giving up this much draft capital.
