"There's nothing not to like. Do you like Drew Brees? Do you like Matt Ryan, those kinds of quarterbacks? That's what Mac Jones is, and he's better than them coming out."
I mean, it's Chris Simms, so take it for what you will, but the man is nothing if not confident in his opinion.

He's also really good at evaluating QBs
Is he though? Had Watson going at the end of 1st round and Josh Rosen very early in the draft. He has also said he missed on Mahomes.

he didnt miss on mahomes
Maybe I miss heard. He himself said he missed on one of the top QBs right now. Maybe it was Josh Allen. And he said Lamar Jackson didn't have accuracy issues - though he had him as his best QB in that draft but said only question with him is if he can take the hits in the NFL. I'd disagree with him there. I think Lamar had accuracy issues and still does.

And from what I saw . His final rankings for 2018 was
1. Lamar
2. Josh Allen
3. Baker
4. Darnold
5. Rosen

I really hope we don't draft him. There is nothing personal against him. When you're picking in top 10 - you go for a guy with unlimited potential.
"Unlimited potential" is a con game. A guy who can be a pretty inaccurate passer, particularly deep (Lance), is not unlimited potential. A guy that is not anticipating and processing the defensive schemes and holding the ball too long (Fields), in not unlimited potential. People speak of unlimited potential as though it only applies to quarterbacks with the athletic attributes, as though all the rest of it will just fall into place with with six months of finishing school. Inaccurate passers usually remain inaccurate. Guys who hold it too long usually continue to hold it too long. Yes, Jones will probably never run a sub 4.7 40 yard dash. And Fields will probably never throw with the anticipation, touch, and accuracy of Jones. So why are we always fed the lie that one is of unlimited potential and the other has "reached his ceiling." Lastly, Derek Carr is a damn good QB, and paired with Kyle Shanahan would probably win a Super Bowl, so if that's supposed to scare me off, it didn't work.

pretty damn good
It's strange that those are his supposed final rankings. In the video below on draft night he says Rosen was his 2nd favorite QB. (Starts about an hour in)
Again, paraphrasing what he said:
"A+. He was my second favorite QB in the entire draft. He's as safe as pick as you can make... He's a tennis prodigy... Prettiest thrower in the draft. Most pro-ready QB in this class. Most game-ready, most ready to go, day one. He's extremely accurate, a great decision maker and lightning fast processor, he's got great feel within the pocket, he's got a stronger arm than people give him credit for... he's Matt Ryan with a better arm."

also nailed herbert, had him ahead of tua last year
He felt Drew Lock and Haskins deserved to be top 10 picks. He also protected Josh Rosen to be Matt Ryan. He can have whatever ranking - he was still very wrong about Rosen.
Here's what he said about Tua - go to 12 min mark
Doesn't have a big arm - very accurate - but doesn't think he can make throws in tight windows. Hmm...reminds me of someone in this draft class.

He doesn't have Derek Carr's arm either.
Most of this guy's points as to what he worries about with Mac are wrong though.
His first concern is how Mac Jones operates under pressure. This might be Mac's best Quality. Mac has both the best QBR when under pressure and The best QBR when blitzed out of any QB in the draft. So clearly that is not a problem for Mac.
He also questioned his accuracy deep. That is something he does well. Again he has the best QBR on deep passes.
This guy has a video that says Dwayne Haskins Is the top QB in the entire 2019 draft. That should tell you all you need to know about what kind of QB evaluator this guy is.
