And we had the 5th pick in the draft...I'd bang the table for Jones even at 5 and say take him and be stoked. But not if Fields is just sitting there for the taking at #3.

I agree. It has to be Fields, none of this makes sense. They could've easily gotten Sam Darnold or traded for Drew Locke and those two moves would be infinity better then drafting Jones at 3.

As for Kyle, he's repeatedly said (paraphrasing Kyle) - QB's make his team primarily from the pocket, any extra a QB brings to the table is considered *after* he's made the team with his QB pocket skills.
Jackson isn't a pocket passer. to beat him , Russell and Murray. you keep them in the pocket

As for Fields and Lance, what makes them less of a pocket passer than Jones ?

As for Mac, what makes him less of an athlete than Lance and Fields? Fields and Lance aren't quite the pocket QB that Mac is, and Mac isn't quite the Athlete's that Fields and Lance are - personally I think it's a wash.

As for Kyle, I think he's picking Mac. Unfortunately.

Right before he gets blasted by Chandler Jones as he actually has to scramble because the perfect pockets he's used to no longer exist.

I did enjoy the argument before the video ended though.

thats going viral now. Not sure what to think. If that's him in the video I pray we don't draft him.

Wow, John Metchie went from 4 to 55 catches and 23 yards to 900+ yards. I'm wondering if you can split the difference and credit 1/2 to Metchie and the other half to Mac?

Actually you can credit Jaylen Waddle's missed games and his targets going to Metchie.

Mac Jones to the 49ers (if it happens) was one of the worst kept secrets ever.

I agree with the Lamar sentiment, and I absolutely do not want a RUNNING quarterback. I don't think anyone does. I want a quarterback who can rip it from the pocket and can RUN/threaten to run when needed. I just think lance/fields opens the field and play book sooo much more than Mac. The more I read/watch today the more I believe it was one of those tw all along. I am a niner fan I'll cheer hard for whoever we take. Though I'll be let down if we traded two firsts for Mac.

"Everybody recognizes the talent with Rosen, but he is not the top guy in the draft because nobody likes him," one executive told Sando.

One team reportedly compared to Rosen a combination of former quarterback Jeff George and Jay Cutler, the polarizing quarterback most recently with the Miami Dolphins, saying he doesn't think Rosen could lead a team.

As a QB you can be an a*****e or kind of douchey even(see Mayfield) but you can't be a guy that your own teammates and coaches are lukewarm on, that speaks volumes. If you have to complain to the media about why nobody likes you or when you're drafted you have to promise that you won't be an a*****e and act like your s**t doesn't stink, that shows there's an issue there.

One thing you can't say about Jones is that his teammates and coaches aren't behind him all the way. Guys didn't hesitate when asked whether they preferred Tua or Jones. He seems to be well liked and admired by everyone within the program. The only reason Mac Jones didn't get kicked off the team after his DUI was because a whole bunch of his teammates went all Rudy on Saban to keep him around.

Guys like him, he's easily coachable, is that enough? No, but its a significant difference from Rosen who always seemed to have a massive ego and was standoffish at best.
