TBH unless this kid has an exceptional and rare intestinal fortitude and resolve, he will bust if drafted by the 49ers imo. The controversy of him being the pick by all the fans, talking heads and media will place such undue expectations on him that I can't see him possibly living up to unless he is a truly generational QB. I will feel really bad for him. Poor kid.

I guarantee if he is a niner and dots a 30 yard pass to kittle for a TD people will shut their trap. I think we're waiting too long on this pick and even longer once the summer rolls on. I'll give the kid a chance to see what hes got. Can't dismiss the pick before he ever plays. I'll be disappointed if he's the pick but I'll give him a chance.

Teammates saying they thought Jones was a better QB than Tua after Tua has already been drafted literally means nothing. Heck even Johnny Manziel's teammates in college said good things about him going into the draft, while at Texas A&M knowing what we know no he would have already been an alcoholic with a serious coke habit.

No teammate is going to say anything but good things about someone going into the draft. That doesn't mean we should take it at face value just because, "his teammates love Mac Jones".

I support and root for all 49ers, whether I wanted them on the team or not (I call Sherm Uncle Sherm and absolutely haaaaaaaated that signing). He will constantly be compared to Fields and Lance. His own success isn't even fully tied to what he does, it is now tied to what other players do as well because Kyle went SOOOO far up when he obviously (again according to just about any and everyone) didn't have to.

Thats the case for everybody. Wilson and Lawrence will have that same pressure.
