Unfortunately that 6 win team came with a completely healthy roster too.
Entirely my point. NE had several key players opt out due to COVID and a bunch of injuries. They were better than a 7 win team last season and they made a lot of moves to upgrade. I think they still have a shot at winning that division.

Mac Jones on being passed by the 49ers: "Secretly, I really wanted to go to the Patriots all along."

Tim Graham: Maybe it's my AFC East foundation pushing me this way, but any of the top five quarterbacks sliding to the Patriots was one of the last things the rest of the division wanted to see. Cam Newton doesn't strike fear anymore, and he obviously wasn't a long-term answer for the greatest coach in NFL history. To snag Mac Jones is a coup for an organization that needed exactly that kind of remedy for the future, especially at a time when the rest of the division has an answer at quarterback.
Dan Pompei: Patriots-Mac Jones is very intriguing because so many people believe Jones is a knock-off version of Tom Brady. The Patriots won't be able to depend on Jones the way they did Brady, especially early in Jones' career. But they can play the same style of offense they did with Brady and be the same type of team philosophically.
