NCommand, hang in there. Trey will be better. You can see Mac in NE a lot. They get several national games

I wanna watch them all honestly.

What do you think a safety net is? They moved up for all 3 and IF they didn't end up liking Lance and Fields in the end, Mac was still their safety net at 3.

Great strategy. We already like Mac and if either of the other two take the reigns over the next month of evaluations, great!

That's probably why all the staff still thought Mac was the pick.

Safety net ≠ starting point

The article clearly states lance and fields were the starting point and it never went past that. Kyle liked lance. Lynch like lance. What the media and staff thought doesn't matter.

Give it up. You can do all these mental gymnastics to try and convince everyone Mac was in the running but he wasn't.

Bingo.

That Patriots war room looked like a mortuary. Not sure Mac was their top preference either. But they got to stand pat and get a guy they were high on. I'm not really a fan of Mac's personally and while I won't actively root for him to fail, I'll read his s**tty box scores with great delight.

Certainly not @ #3.

Safety net does mean starting point as in "we're starting here, and we're trying to get to here." But it's the opposite of your primary target. Their objective was to draft Trey or Fields, and if they couldn't they'd go back to the starting point/safety net of Jones.

People still think we wanted Mac?

Nonsense

Oh I love Trey.

I was just clarifying things. Then again, that clarification was through a media source. So

Anyway, moot point.

All you really needed to know is this was a lot closer than fans want to admit given Kyle's own staff thought the pick was Mac too (like most of the nation esp. media most tied to the 49ers).

I can't wait to see Kyle mold Trey!
I think I realized why they chose Lance over Jones. We are clearly looking to run more than throw. Which makes sense why the choice was Lance.

I know you're pissed off..
I knew the trade up wasn't for a guy THAT WE MAY HAVE HAD A SHOT AT STAYING AT 12!

I figured it was for Fields or Wilson. Didn't think we had the balls to bring along a raw but ridiculously high ceiling guy like Lance but it seems I was partially right. Fields and Lance were the guys being considered. Lance won out and I know he is the right pick for Shanahan

I knew we weren't so stupid as to trade all our firsts away for a guy that only goes so far in watching his figure as to watching his shadow

I don't get why any of us could believe such honestly because I knew other teams weren't going to outbid us to get Mac Jones

That belief was proven right so I'm just here to see folk gloat about it

That, and they see him as potentially the better Quarterback.

I would love to be an offense that can run on 65% + of the offensive snaps.
