Worse. Reports say he was missing guys running routes with no defense on the field. So glad Shannahan isn't as stupid as the media who pushed that garbage.

So a rookie QB who is in the process of learning the playbook and scheme, made mistakes on the practice field? Oh the horror!

It's ok if a rookie QB isn't able to effectively play catch without missing guys.

It's just more evidence of what I said all during the last 12 weeks of the draft run-up. Mac Jones isn't accurate.

Care to show us these reports?

An example came on one throw to wide receiver Kendrick Bourne in a simple drill with no defense, with Jones delivering the pass behind him and then seeking Bourne out to let him know it was the quarterback's error.

I'm sure Bourne knew it wasn't his fault.

Well, he's not.

You claimed he was missing guys running routes... as in more than one. Yet he didn't miss, the pass was simply a little behind the receiver. Here is the exact clip :

Here is Baker in 2019 throwing just slightly behind OBJ

Kinda normal thing that happens at times in practice. Practice is where these guys learn, grow, develop, improve and work on some things like timing and chemistry. If the bar is to be perfect 100% of the time, even in practice, then the bar will never be met.

Well, he's not.

I think his anticipation was tops in the draft. His accuracy was vastly overrated though. It's still good.. but not as good as his numbers would indicate.

I fully expect Jones to be a good QB for a long time. If Rivers can have a long career with a noodle arm then Jones can.
how can someone throw behind Bourne

There was another video tweet showing Mac hitting a guy in the corner of the end zone (with no defenders) and stated that he had missed the throw on the previous rep.

Pats should just pack it up and pack it in. Seasons over and Mac is a bust, sky is falling.

Mac jones being complimented in May for "leadership qualities" (???): SEE!!!
Video showing mac jones throwing crummy passes with no pass rush: Yeah that doesn't really matter

Point being neither really matters but it's something to talk about... i guess
Look at his pace!
I think we care too much about Mac Jones
I still don't get why the 49ers fanbase keeps talking about this dude? It's like most hopes to watch him fail just to be right themselves.
I didn't like Mac and don't expect him to do great in the NFL, but he is not a 49er and, therefore, couldn't care less how his career turns.

To me is has more to do with hating the Patriots and wanting them to fail. Patriots are right up there with the Chiefs for my most hated team in the AFC.

Wasn't aware this thread was in the niners section or that this forum was niners-only related conversations??

Personally, I think it's hilarious the amount of hate this guy gets through no fault of his own. It wasn't his fault the rumors were the 49ers moved up to #3 for him.

What hate? The only thing i've seen posted is A) Thank god the niners didn't draft him because B) he's not very athletic and doesn't have much of an NFL arm so it's hard to envision him having prolonged NFL success and you shouldn't be taking that type of player in the 1st round, let alone top 5.
