Why not be happy that the 49ers got their guy and that all these QBs look pretty good thus far? Each team seems to have gotten what they needed.

I liked Jones in college so I'll continue to root for him to do well in the NFL when he isn't facing the 49ers, much like how I liked Quinnen Williams, Brian Burns, Chase Winovich and others.

I don't see Nate Peterman on your list of guys you liked

You don't see it with any of the other QBs, just Jones. He's living rent free in the minds of so many that the IRS should be coming after him for unreported benefits.

I'll be commenting in the Fields thread after his game just as well. End of the day I'm more than happy with how it all went down...Best of luck to McCorkle and the NE fans.

We're on to Cincinnati

Complain? Nitpick? I think people are just calling it like they see it. I guarantee Trey will have growing pains too. Like I said before, it's ok to comment on other players and discuss how they're doing, ESPECIALLY QBs in the same class as the "future franchise" you just drafted.

I know I'll be watching all the QBs in the coming years, even the ones we had no shot at!

haha
I've just watched a repeat of the first few quarters and two things jumped out to me.

1) Mac is much better than Cam at this point and they should start him.

2) I'm so glad we didn't draft him. Just looks limited, efficient, but limited.
Watched all of Mac, only one preseason game but my first impression was, a less athletic Alex Smith. Check downs and Dinks and Dunks. He had a couple of impressive throws but not much to really get excited about. To take a page from Al Davis, Jones demonstrated an ability to "Spray" the ball, though he did have the nice downfield end zone throw that his receiver could not grab. Looks like the classic system QB. We will see.

pretty much

NE Mac Jones looks exactly like AL Mac Jones. The accuracy came and went. Sometimes he was flat footed and looked completely immobile. His arm is what it is. But overall the offense looked efficient and he looks like a much better fit for what NE wants to do on offense than Cam.

I don't care enough to hate on the kid, but I'm very happy to have Trey. I don't think the upsides are comparable.

I think I voted 'do not want' about 120+ times.

Alabama Mac Jones was as close to flawless as any qb has ever been and that's barely debatable.

by air do you mean arc? because lance has a russell wilson esque arc to his throw, and i love it. i see nothing wrong with macs either.

You totally ignored the rest of my comment and posted a still. If the ball had led the WR more towards the back of the end zone, he wouldn't have had to adjust his body and stride and could have just run under it. Because it was a little short, he had to break his stride, turn his body, and the DB had the chance to break it up, which he did.

holy f**k

Lol so efficient. 13-19 for 87 yards. Mac Jones sucks ass!
