I have nothing against Mac Jones personally beyond the fact that he isn't very good.

A QB who averaged 4.6 yards per completion did not have a good game. That's 1 yard lower than Mostert's career per yard average running the ball.

Ohh boy if you want to go there….Trey Lances only game in the last year was worse. 50% for 4.8 ay/a.

But he made up for that with his legs on 15 carries for 143 yards (9.5 average) and 2 TDS. He literally ran his team to victory.

Yes, vs Central Arkansas. With much better players on his side. He could not throw on them do had to run. That does not translate to the NFL

You have no idea how his game translates to the NFL, we about to see a sample size in a few hours. I do know Mac looked how I expected him to in his sample size. Looked like it hurt him not having much better players on his side all the same, that 13 completions for 87 yards would've been double the yardage at Bama with him throwing those same dink and dunk passes and screens and his receivers getting all the YAC. Pretty cool to have multiple tools in the toolbox to use when one of them isn't working for you

Not sure if serious. But if you are, he was good enough in that game to put his team on his back and go win the game.

Should've had him throw a bunch of bubble screens to his elite NFL WRs to boost his passing #s like they did for mac

And still won the game with his legs. Wonder what would happen to Mac if/when the passing game can't get going

Playing in the SEC, that never happened. They only got to 4th down 6 times in the first 3 quarter of any game. He was almost perfect.

Hes talking about the nfl now. You know, now that Mac doesn't have vastly superior talent at every position, how will he cope in the nfl? It's fair to wonder how a mediocre physical talent like Mac (average arm, not athletic by NFL standards) will handle something he never had to experience in college: having pass rushers in his face and his WRs aren't wide open. We shall see!

Lol,...Mac & Cheese threw some solid throws,...nothing special thus far. That in and of itself -- the decision-making -- is impressive for a rookie getting his 1st time.

He looks like an eventual starter but nothing screams "future Pro Bowl-level player" at the moment. So the question is how much room for improvement does he really have from here forward? Remains to be seen.

But obviously,...the new kids on the block that went before him that are passers 1st but are mobile as well have an advantage in that way from the beginning.

All 4 of them can move around, but Mac can't. So it's going to be interesting to see how successful ole-school football with an average arm can still be while building (an offense) from the ground up.

You're obviously ALOT more of an Alabama fan than you are a 9er. Root for Mac till the cows come home,...but we're rolling with Trey.

I am a bigger Bama fan but I've been vocal that I thought the trade up was absolutely idiotic. I wanted to stay out and take someone who could help us contend now with a loaded roster, either a corner or o linemen.
when we traded up I preferred Fields. Really anybody but Lance. He just hasn't played enough football
