A lot of guys over here are in love with Chris Simms who went all in for Mac Jones. So now they feel tied to him and praise him whenever he makes an average NFL throw.

I can understand Niner fans being split between Lance and Fields but Mac Jones? really? After watching Jimmy for the past couple years and absolutely wanting nothing to do with Kirk Cousins and yet there are alot of fans who wanted Mac Jones who has a similar style to them and similar ceiling. I mean how could you be so against Cousins but then want Kyle to draft Mac Jones? The Mac fanboys raving about these pocket throws from Jones in these 2 pre-season game, You know who else makes these type of throws? Cousins.

Exactly, and that's why I wanted no part of Jones. Every time I'd hear Kyle talking about how great Cousins was I'd cringe. If we were going execute Jimmy's succession plan, I was hoping for someone like Trey or Fields, Someone with some boom to their game, and and who could potentially allow us the ability to compete with the Mahomes' and Allen's of the league. Mac to me was either on par or inferior to Jimmy and didn't fit the bill.

Bruh, he was perfect last year. And it's not #s or anything I'm looking at, it's his pocket presence, quick and decisive release, anticipation, Pre read snaps, all things Lance has no concept of

Neither did Josh Allen or Pat Mahomes.

I'll bet on upside with Shanny teaching.
Name me one college qb who ran nearly as much as they threw that went on to be successful in the NfL. Can't use Vick. I'll wait….

Name me a current unathletic, average armed statue QB in the NFL that is elite. Can't use Tom Brady. I'll wait...

Oh frenchy, you probably don't even understand the difference between having 31 guys to choose from 1000s. Not to mention 2 all time greats just retired. Football will never move away from elite pocket passers. They win Super Bowls.

No doubt. I'm dubious Mac can ever be an elite pocket passer however.

You see Brady. I and many others see Andy Dalton.

Like the Beatles said, times they are a-changin'! I know you are bitter we didn't pick maccorckle and that's fair. He's your boy! But take it from an unbiased college individual: you swing for the fences (lance) not keep a cheaper status quo (Mac).

I don't really have anything against Mac to be honest. He can definitely be efficient and successful. But, he's a dying breed of QB. I don't mean a pocket QB, I mean a pocket only QB with an average NFL arm and very limited mobility. You can accept it or not but that's just the reality of where the nfl is headed!

You have to realize he's also a huge Alabama fan, and while he claims no bias, it's clear there is one. When you see zero flaws on Jones, who is clearly a very flawed quarterback, you are looking through crimson colored glasses.
Mac and Cheese vs. One Play Trey

Yup, those two will always be compared both here and in the media. I know who I would bet on

Lamar Jackson. Yes, winning MVP is successful.
Cam Newton. Yes, winning MVP is successful.

Those two would be the best examples and neither have won a super bowl. Can came close but Lamars lack of pocket ability shows up big in the postseason.
Also, Trey has nowhere near the physical gifts of those two/ LJs speed, acceleration and agility or Cams strength and speed. If he did he would've gotten a few big time offers out of high school.
They did have similar pass attempts to rush attempts as Trey in college tho so good pull.

Just answering your question, that was easy. Now to the bolded, remind me of the big time offers that Newton got out of high school and where he was prior to transferring to Auburn and whooping Bamas ass, since you know, Trey has nowhere near the physical gifts of Cams strength and speed.

Touche
cam was a top 25 overall recruit and signed with Florida out of high school. It would be easier to list the schools that didn't offer.
So much for that heh
