None of these take into account the type of pressure nor the timing of the pressure. If you watch his film, most of the pressure he faced came after he had plenty of time to go through some progressions. That makes a big difference vs a guy that's seeing pressure as soon as he finishes his drop.

This literally shows time to pressure which is on par with the rest

I missed that since it was cut out of the thumbnail. Not sure where those numbers are coming from though. I am not sure they are accurate just based on what I remember from watching every throw he made in college.

I just think his looks different than the rest. Because he steps up away from the pressure where the others spin out of(sometimes into) the pressure.

He is Floyd Mayweather to the other guys' Mike Tyson

I always thought that Mac Jones is a starter in the NFL, but I also think he is close, very close, to his ceiling which is going to be steady eddie Alex Smith like QB, which you can absolutely win with. He was one of if not the safest pick at QB. The Pats were pleased with the fact that they didn't draft a bust the moment they made the pick. I think in Shanahans offense he'd have been good, but still at best the 3rd best QB in the division in a few years imo.

When I became a 49ers fan in the mid 80's, and for years afterward obviously, the 49ers were known for their elite QB play and powerful offense and this fan wants to return to the days of having one of the best QB's in the NFL slinging the rock on Sundays. IMO Mac Jones is never going to be that and as such I supported shooting for the superstar QB prospect. I always knew that yeah the Cowboys were a powerful team, but we had the better QB so we always had that advantage.

I mean all of us knew that mac is the most capable of starting right away, of course he is going to look good right away. But how much better can he get??

Exactly

I guess we'll find out. Just like with all the other rookies.

Belichick obviously believed he can get better or else he wouldn't have spent a 1st rounder on him, and would have waited until the 4th round or later, like some posters were suggesting he should be picked at.

Bellicheck isn't a great drafter, especially in early rounds. If you think Mac is going to be elite he'd be the first unathletic (he's not a complete statue but you know what I mean) and average armed elite NFL QB since.... I don't know when? The 80s?

When did I say he was going to be elite? If I posted that show me because I'm pretty certain I never said that.

My argument has always been that he is not trash like others posters have already concluded. So, they waste time minimizing his accomplishments. I have always argued that there are things that he does well at QB that would help him at the next level. So far, he's showing the same abilities he showed at Alabama. My guess, Belichick is pleased with that, considering his tape in Alabama is what helped him drafted in the 1st.

like I said to the other poster, I guess we'll find out.

He has a good enough arm. Brady never had a rocket either. Burrow doesn't have a rocket either. Same with Rivers. He can throw it deep, medium, short, and that's good enough. People make it sound like he's Shaun Hill for some reason. Jimmy can't throw a deep ball yet he's still decent enough. You don't need to have a great arm to have success in this league.
