Yep, they still finished .500 in the division despite a skeleton crew that was actually playing and having Hoyer starting at QB for several games.
Talent wise that defense is miles ahead of where it was last season.
Hoyer played in one game and it was vs the Chiefs.

Todd Bowles defense will be one of Mac's toughest tests all season. He is blitz heavy, disguises it well and brings it from anywhere and everywhere.

I did not have a horse in the race with respect to the Jones v. Trey v. Fields debate. There were lots of things I liked about all three.
But there are some people in here that should start eating some crow appetizer. Jones has looked great in preseason (note: this preseason has been weird as many teams are playing very few starters and is therefore somewhat hard to judge). Jones has looked better than Trey in almost every aspect of their games so far. This does not mean that Trey wont be better than Jones, or that Jones is going to be great, it all just means that the widespread and intense Jones hate appears to be very wrong, at least at this point. People in here talking about Shanny should be fired if they draft Jones. The Jones hysteria was nuts. Those folks should come and admit that Jones is not the awful prospect they claimed.
It's also unfortunate for Trey because he is going to be compared to Jones, and not just Jones' play, but the draft capital it took to trade up. Right now Jones + all those draft picks is looking pretty good against just Trey. I hope Trey takes all the steps we hope and expect he will, otherwise, this may be hard to overcome should Jones because a legit franchise QB.

Wow quite surprised Cam got released. I expected Mac to be named the starter. He is clearly better but I am still surprised they got rid of him. I wonder if Cam asked to be released after being told Mac would start. Or if they decided to do it because they didn't want a divided locker room.
