This one had me dying

The fact that Jones is performing better than Lance at this point should not surprise anyone nor should it discourage 49er fans. Jones has had a LOT more experience, recent experience than Trey.

Jones is exactly what most thought he would be - the most "pro-ready" QB of the draft. Lance is also showing what most thought of him - he lacks experience and polish. Jones is in a situation where the door was wide open for him to win the QB1 slot. Lance is in a different situation. As long as the team is winning with Garappolo there are sound reasons why Trey will watch and learn.

Cam's just not the same Cam we've came to know,...bottom line. Even so,...good job that the rook was able to get the anti-vaxxer kicked to the curb.

Oh c'mon! Get out of here with this totally reasonable and logical take!
Yall laughing but remember you're the same ones freaking out we need to draft the a stong armed athletic qb over a polished pocket quarterback.
Pretty sure most of you would have taken Cam over Mac a few months ago..

Cam from 2015? Of course. Do you even watch recent football lol?

But there are some people in here that should start eating some crow appetizer. Jones has looked great in preseason (note: this preseason has been weird as many teams are playing very few starters and is therefore somewhat hard to judge). Jones has looked better than Trey in almost every aspect of their games so far. This does not mean that Trey wont be better than Jones, or that Jones is going to be great, it all just means that the widespread and intense Jones hate appears to be very wrong, at least at this point. People in here talking about Shanny should be fired if they draft Jones. The Jones hysteria was nuts. Those folks should come and admit that Jones is not the awful prospect they claimed.

It's also unfortunate for Trey because he is going to be compared to Jones, and not just Jones' play, but the draft capital it took to trade up. Right now Jones + all those draft picks is looking pretty good against just Trey. I hope Trey takes all the steps we hope and expect he will, otherwise, this may be hard to overcome should Jones because a legit franchise QB.

That would be a no brainer if I was talking about the MVP Cam The point im making is 75%+ of posters want flash/potential over consistency/fundamental.

I'm one of the few that was wanting to draft Mac. I'm happy with Lance and its a lot more exciting with the mystery and potential that shrouds him

It just erks me that so many people completely dismiss Qbs that don't have a rocket arm or scramble ability when you have several all time greats without either

Then start making memes and jokes about Cam losing his job to the far "inferior" noodle armed fatass Mac Jones..

Yet he won the job

It's kinda like the "Jimmy's 5 games in 2017" stuff. There's this collection of posters here that really don't think these guy's bodies (and CTE brains) wear down over the years.

Yea except the guys around these parts reminding everyone that Jones started the same amount of games as Lance. So Jones didn't have any more experience than Lance

Except Jones experience was last season against top level competition. Trey's was 2 years ago in the FCS.

You beat me to it. That was my point. Recent experience.

This. Everyone knew that mac would look good right away. Why am I seeing some people (not here necessarily) already wishing we got mac.

No, no, no. Many on here were adament that Trey was the most pro ready qb. We were told over and over again how he ran a pro style offense and would immediately adapt to Shanahans system. Just before the 1st preseason game we were told that Jimmy was not needed and that Trey would be starting this year. Many were eager to get as much for Jimmy as we could because try was ready now.

So no, that excuse does not hold water.
