ya...i have plenty of posts in here defending Mac early on and thinking he could be at least a decent starter. but some of these guys in here took it to another level with him, while constantly s**tting on Lance as well.
It's the wanting to claim victory after 3 preseason games that kills me. Like congrats the pro ready QB looks pro ready and beat out a QB who was dog s**t last year.

i think theor offense will be better they will have more TO than 12 im guessing but i think they will throw more

I didn't like Mac's off field stuff. I think he was propped up by a Bama team that talent wise is on another tier.
I think he's closer to his ceiling compared to the other QB prospects. He's not trash, but imo he isn't worth a top 12 pick let along 3 1sts. If you're moving on from Jimmy let's at least get a prospect with a MUCH higher ceiling. Not Jimmy G 2.0 or slightly better.

I'm not a fan of putting a ceiling on any player. But I do think there's a benefit to having a QB the threatens every blade of grass on the field. I'll wait the 3 years to proclaim one is better than the other. As I've said Ryan Leaf looked like a future stud in his preseason before imploding while Peyton looked like booty and went on to have an okay career.

At the end of the day college and NFL football are different sports with a lot in common... same can be said for NFL pre-season and regular season.... We won't know what's on the field until next year.

GMFB had a nice segment on him. Showed some nice throws, some of which people questioned he could make. Also, noted how well he sees the field. Yes, it was "only" preseason but the reads he made, and the throws he made showed well-developed skills.
Now, if he can do some of that stuff against a Miami defense that is better than a lot of people think...

Nothing wrong with wanting to see Mac or any of these QB prospects succeed, and it's absolutely beneficial to the league if any of these guys can find some level of success as a starter.
I am not just a 49er fan but also a football fan.
