16 points (unless McCorkle gets a chance in a couple minutes) just isin't enough this day and age, regardless how efficient you are at tossing 1st downs.

Yeah it's kinda early to give up on a guy but Tua looks pretty average. Watson would bring the big play element (a redundant theme isint it?)

Doesn't bode well for a 2nd year QB when the HC keeps going to the other guy on important possessions.

Mac looked great in his debut. Caught the L to Tua though and according to the Jimmy thread, that makes Tua better

I was just going to edit my post and say that. I know he doesn't weigh much but if I'm Tua in my 2nd year I'm yelling about that. Jacoby Brissett isin't exactly Taysom Hill or anything.

Clearly his understudy is more of a "hey I'm the leader" type of player than Tua.

Mac will have a good career with the Patriots. He's got top coaching. A top 5 offensive line. A great running game. Always a great defense since its coached by Bill. But I wonder if they can really win a Superbowl with Mac. When you have a great team like that, you're thinking of Superbowl aspirations. 16 points isn't going to cut it against the Chiefs. And them and Tampa is who everyone is trying to beat.

He made some good throws, but a lot of dink and dunks. And when you run the ball too much, you will be prone to fumbles. They should let him throw down the field more as the season goes.

So far played the best of the rookie QB's Week 1. Still have to see if Fields gets any play time.

A few Mac inaccurate throws cost them late (had a really bad throw early that should've been picked). He had some easy pitch & catches that were low, killing the drive. Putting up 16 points isn't going to win you many games but Mac played a good game overall. Some games come down to a few missed opportunities and that is the story for the pats

Came down to fumbles by RB. But I agree, Mac had some inaccurate throws towards the end. However, if the RB doesn't fumble, I think they wrap up the game with a FG.

Overall, Mac had a good game for his first outing. Definitely didn't get slapped back to reality as one suggested.

Its one game and he put up 16 points. Lots of good things but there is a reason he was the 5th QB taken. He accurate and won't turn the ball over but he's also not going to take over a game or light it up. So long as the pats D balls out and can keep it low scoring he will be fine
