I think posters are are just insecure about Trey that they feel the need to lash out on Mac. They are on different paths to start their careers as expected (by some I guess).
Lot going the other way to. Openly rooting for Trey to fail.

I don't think anyone that is a niner fan is rooting for him to fail. I could only think of one poster, but like I said niner fan lol

I said his game was fine but he also contributed to the missed opportunities. If you want to put qualifiers on that saying he's a rookie I don't really have an issue with that. He was not the sole reason they lost, which is more than a lot of rookies can say each year

Came down to fumbles by RB. But I agree, Mac had some inaccurate throws towards the end. However, if the RB doesn't fumble, I think they wrap up the game with a FG.
Overall, Mac had a good game for his first outing. Definitely didn't get slapped back to reality as one suggested.
Its one game and he put up 16 points. Lots of good things but there is a reason he was the 5th QB taken. He accurate and won't turn the ball over but he's also not going to take over a game or light it up. So long as the pats D balls out and can keep it low scoring he will be fine

This was always the expectation for Mac since people wanted to replace Jimmy with him. Thought that was the idea at #12 back in January.
Well Jimmy outplayed him today for whatever that's worth. If we drafted Mac, we'd have two Jimmy's or two Mac's. So what.

He was down the list of reason why they lost. I put the more weight on the RBs hat fumbled. Especially the one the cost them a chip shot game winning FG.
I do agree though that he missed a couple throws down the stretch. Still could have won the game with those missed throws.
He looks like an unseasoned Jimmy G if you catch my drift

Yeah, he had some great plays & stood tall vs. pass rush a few times. Pats have to be happy overall with his performance

He very impressive and all the informed talking heads will tell you this week, but….don't forget that Bourne is one of his best receivers and I love him, but Damien Harris just isn't that good. He made some big boy throws today and looked in control the whole game.

Just finished watching every dropback of his from the Dolphins game. His performance was very "meh", in that he was effective underneath with the stick and flat routes, like we knew, but he never pushed the ball once. He's very Andy Dalton-ish.
He made a couple of nice throws, but everything else was schemed open, easy underneath throws with good to excellent protection. He had a guy on an inside post that was open but the ball is so slow out of his hand that the cornerback recovered and batted it away.
I always felt he was a 2nd round quarterback prospect... nothing has changed my mind yet.

Mac looked better than I expected him to. They'll definitely have to change that offense up to be successful though. He averaged about 5.7 yards per target. Hard to run the ball when they know you're just throwing short most of the time. Miami clamped down on the run game after Harris broke a couple off early. First 6 carries went for 60 yards. Had 40 yds on 17 carries the rest of the game.
