Mac Jones-QB-Jaguars

Dudes flat out balling. Seemed obvious as a easy pick

Yes, Mac played in the best conference in college football. However, keep in mind he was going up against the best of the best in practice every day. On draft day my thinking was Shanahan is supposed to be the QB whisperer. Why mortgage the future on a Division 2 QB that has not gone up against top competition. Fields and Mac were more ready, plain and simple.

A good friend used to say, "Never date a pretty girl for what you hope she will be, date her for what she is."

Mac Jones is who he was in college - the most pro-ready QB in the draft. All the others are what their teams are hoping they will be. They are all pretty girls but they are not what they want them to be...yet, if ever.

Jones has had a couple of up and down games, however, today he repeatedly showed touch and vision that none of the others have even begun to show...and he did that in college.

Of course, this discussion may sound a lot different in 1 or 2 years...
Myles Garrett is scared of Mac Jones you could tell he wasn't really himself played scared of a QB unreal

Especially when it took a top 10 pick to replace him and as a poor replacement at that.

Already responded. Read the threads. You are just wasting time now. I'm not responding to you anymore. This is ridiculously redundant at this point.

Oh the irony

19 - 23.

198 yards.

3 TD'S. 0 interceptions.

142.1 rating.

Kendrick Bourne

4 - 98 yards.

1 TD.

Dude even makes Kendrick Bourne look like a star. Because he has such good ball placement and accuracy. Bourne is a scrub. If you make him look good you have talent.

The Pats run game dominated. Mac played well but really didn't need to do much. He looks legit and could be very solid.

Don't know what we have but hopefully Trey has the goods between the ears.

lol 12 of his 23 passes were screens and those accounted for 75% of his passing yards. He played well, but the NE offensive game plan and the execution of it by the entire offense is what won them the game.

Mac Jones throws touchdowns and wins games.

I actually watched a good portion of that game. The running game was outstanding and the offense line gave Mac nice, clean pockets. I remember Garrett getting a coverage sack on him once.

That said, Mac does manipulate the pocket well for a rookie and throws a catchable ball. On the other hand, guys seemed to be wide open. Some of that is indicative of how quick he is to see them, but a lot of it is the scheme which is set up with a successful run game.

I had him as a second or third round grade, not a whole lot has changed but he's played a little better than expected. In a redraft, I would take him over Lance, but behind Lawrence and Fields. I was never a fan of Wilson.

As for Kendrick Bourne, he's an excellent possession receiver... he just had spotty hands. But he always came up big on third down. Excellent signing by New England... cheap, too.

We miss out on Rodgers now Mac?
Given the condition of the roster, I would easily redo the draft and sit at 12 and take Jones and keep two 1sts and a 3rd. We could desperately use those picks. Everyone is so ga ga over the big athletic QB's but this guy is just a very good QB in all the ways that have been traditionally important. Very accurate, reads defenses very well, moves through professions with ease, throws catchable balls and has more than adequate arm to make all the throws, big time self confidence, very smart, nothing too big for him. Everyone says his ceiling is low. Do we really know that? If you can complete 70+% of your passes and have the kind of TD/INT ratio he has, he will get you to any Super Bowl...and it's only his first year. He will probably only get better.

Trey is a long shot. Has a higher ceiling, but what gamble and at such a cost. This better work out or Shanny is in deep doo doo.
Everytime he gets moon eyes over a prospect that he just has to have it turns out to be a disaster. Joe Williams, Dante Pettis, just read today that he was willing to give up a couple of first and other picks for Kirk Cousins. Somebody needs to put a leash on him and when he has a "gotta have" guy to immediately drop that player down a few rounds or take him off the board immediately.

For sure Mac Jones does all the stuff you really need.
