Is that what Mac Jones did??

Yeah actually

I guess we were watching a different game.

lol yeah I guess so....I watched that whole game

I count 9 passes completed after the LOS to 10 yards.

And 9 completed at or behind it. Plus three more that weren't completed.

You people are forgetting what was actually said from my original response. lol

Noticed why I said "after the LOS to 10 yards".

You guys go to far length's to hate on a rookie QB.

Dude you have no f**king clue on Lance and you have no clue what Bill would have taken. There was a report that they wanted Jimmy before drafting Jones, so even they weren't all in on him.

YOU YOUR SELF said Lance should sit a yr....and yet here you are b***hing about him. You can't have it both ways man. He either sits and learns like you want or goes out and plays.

Sitting a year to fully grasp a playbook yes ND to run this offense with proficiency yes.

What concerns me about trey is what I've seen so far, coupled with reports about regression with Shanahan confirming the reports in his strange ways. I would have liked to see something to get me excited.

I do know this. Belicheck picked Mac when he was available. If he didn't want him they wouldnt have taken him. Offensive guru Sean Payton wanted to trade up for him. Drew Brees and Montana have spoken highly of him. The only person I've seen publicly criticize him? Rex ryan.
Debate the Mac Jones pick until we are all blue in the face. Scream at one another if it makes you feel better. Bottom line is Bill Bellicheat has managed to find another QB and essentially rebuild his team after one down season. The Pats might even challenge the Bills for the division title. If they don't win the division, as of right now, they sure do look like a playoff team to me.
Do we have to continue with this second guessing. Nearly everyone felt that Jones was probably the most ready to play. They also felt he had the lowest ceiling. Nothing so far has changed that view. Mac is efficient but hasn't done anything that is eye popping. He is like a young Jimmy G. Limited mobility. Limited arm.

The Niners could have selected him and probably won some games in the future but it's clear that they looked around the league at the trend to athletic QBs and decided that they wanted to go that route. That doesn't mean that Trey will work out but if he becomes the guy they expect, he'll be better than Jones. If he doesn't then Kyle is looking for a new job.

Patirots are running the same offense they've run for decades and people are just looking for any reason to nitpick Jones. He's been an outstanding for a rookie passer and they appear to be doing everything possible to develop him the right way.

"Rookie QB guilty of running his team's offense at a high level" isn't quite the flex some believe it to be.

Honestly I was one those that didn't want Jones on the Niners at all and I didn't want Lance either.. I wanted Fields. I thought the NFL defenses would figure Jones out quickly and Lance was to raw to waste 3 picks on (Preferably i would of liked to have seen the Niners retain the 3 picks we gave up but thats another story) ..I'm not sure Jones would be having the same success here as He's having NE..the system and experienced coaching has allowed Jones to grow and gain confidence ..Belichik didn't cut Cam for no reason he seen something in Jones thats for sure Tiime will tell as to Jones continued success as Defenses figure out his rhythms and patterns ..As for myself I hope all the Rookie QBs become successful ..thats what makes Football great ..the competition .. That said I'm HOPING to see Lance become The future of the Niners..I'm just not sure Lance has the same quality of EXPERIENCED coaching behind Him as Jones does ..thats worrisome...

The Pats have 4 wins against really bad teams. Jets (2) , Miami and Houston. The last two wins were mainly because of their defense. They held Carolina and Cleveland to less than 10 points in those 2 games. Jones passed for less than 200 yards and they won both in a blowout. Much like during the Brady era, it's the defense under the best defensive coach in history that's winning a lot of those games. Belichick has always been a great defensive coach going all the way back to his days as the DC for the Giants. He was one of the few that could slow down or stop Walsh and Montana.

It's a great spot for a rookie QB. When your D plays well and gives you a short field or doesn't make you play from behind it makes the job a lot easier.

I like how they use these stats instead of the per game stats, considering Mac has played 10 games vs most other QBs only having 9 or fewer. He's 21st in passing yards per game and 20th in completed air yards per game. Only 21 QBs have started more than 8 games btw.

You mean the same Miami team that beat Baltimore?

Bottom line is that Mac is WINNING. He looked rough in his first four games, but he's been solid since then. You're right in that New England isn't putting the entire offense on his arm. Why should they?

All that matters in this league is wins and losses. You can argue style points until the crows come home to roost. It does not matter. Wins matter. That's all that counts.

At this point in his career Mac looks like a winner. The Patriots blew out a pretty good Browns team yesterday. They did this with Mac Jones at QB.

I wanted him, we did not get him. But I moved on. So many have not. If he turns out to be better than Trey long term than we failed, again. No doubt and if we did, John and Kyle will most certainly be fired over it, if they haven't already been fired by then. Is it really worth gnashing our teeth into the concrete about?
