The knocks on him regarding the Patriots W-L record have gone silent, so now people have to bash him for running the offense at a high level because it isn't and never has been a Bruce Arians chuck and duck style offense.

Yeah but Patriots with Brady ran screens like 10% of the time. Mac is almost double that.

So you're saying that Mac Jones won't become Brady?

That said I'm HOPING to see Lance become The future of the Niners..I'm just not sure Lance has the same quality of EXPERIENCED coaching behind Him as Jones does ..thats worrisome...

There isn't much to figure out. This is very much the same offense McDaniel ran with Brady. It is the "New England" offense and it hasn't changed in a decade. It is the ultimate complementary football that has brought the Lombardi to New England repeatedly.

Not so much what he did as how he did it, hit throws in stride, on time and perfectly placed. 19/23 and 3 TDs

He also was challenged early, Browns stopped the run and got them in 3rd and long in 1st quarter. He converted the 3rd downs (7 out of 9)

I mean you guys were pretty silent with that 139 yard turd he laid last week. Didn't hear much about him from any of you.

But he lights up a team for 198 yards and 3 TDs this week (his 1st 3TD game right?) and the chest thumping starts right back up again like you never left.

Going silent isin't a 1-sided thing,...let's not even pretend like it is.

2nd,...I know you're not going to like to hear this, but he's not the complete package just yet. I know you see him as a 10 yr vet whenever he has one of these 199 yard games, but there are multiple levels he has to reach before he's fully arrived.

Case in point, Jimmy's "superb" year in 2019 where he was slobbered all over as well. Most of you ignored the inconsistencies in his game and promoted him to levels he hadn't achieved. Sure enough come playoff time, when the competition was more fierce, he sputtered.

Will Mac Jones do the same? Will he become more consistent,...especially down the field? Will these 139 yard outings disappear? Will he rise to the level of competition again and again?

If you Mac Jones fans are so sure of him,....guarantee us these things NOW!

Otherwise,...it's just alot of extreme gloating over solid play. You'd think he just clinched an AFC CG birth with how excited some of you are that he plays like a competent NFL QB.

You mean the game he WON last week?

It was more fun watching the haters like yourself reach on the alligator death roll that filled so many of you with fake rage.

I went back through this thread at the time before the draft, and I gotta say, you probably should g even be allowed to post in here. Some of the stuff you put out was absolute trash regarding Jones. Just ludicrous. Now he comes out guns blazing, making your posts look even more idiotic, and your doubling down. Learn to take the L and move on

Do we have to continue with this second guessing. Nearly everyone felt that Jones was probably the most ready to play......

The Niners could have selected him and probably won some games in the future but it's clear that they looked around the league at the trend to athletic QBs and decided that they wanted to go that route.

Shouldn't that be the end of this? That's really just that. My guy was Fields, but Kyle has infinitely more knowledge on the two than I do.

We'll see if it's the right choice or not. Mac looking like a legit QB doesn't change any of this. Again,...this stuff eerily reminds me of the 2019 Jimmy G overhype train. Come playoff time,...what did it all mean? Everyone's not Tom Brady or Joe Montana when the going gets tough, so relax a little, lol. Don't put him in the Hall just yet.

I mean Mac's clearly a better player than Jimmy is, at least in that offense. I'm just saying though.

The underlined part. Why doe the celebrators not want to have legit discussion about this? You obviously know your stuff, so please post more.

I say this once a month without much recognition regarding it,...but the NFL, as is often said, is A LEAGUE OF ADJUSTMENTS.

Kyle knows this himself having had RG3 to try and foster. How'd that pan out?

Legit teams know exactly how to play us with Jimmy G by now. Give some of these defensive coaches a year of game film on Mac in the Patriots offense and he becomes a sitting target. Ok then, how will his game react? If you are sure he will be just fine,...what have you seen from him this season that makes you so sure?

Why not quote it then? I mean I have no problem quoting you yesterday about how you're having a hard time not switching from being a 49er to being a Patriot fan. #YourWords #NotMine

Simply click the quote button.

Look,...Mac's not Tom Brady,...never will be. Dirty plays like last week verify what I think about the guy. They reassure me as to why I'm happy we took someone else.

As a human being,...off the field...I hope he gets better. But if there are reasons people have to not like him though, from what I've seen, they're 100% legit.

Lol meanwhile,....You railroad a choir boy Lance at every opportunity while he rides pine for one reason and one reason only: You're an Alabama fan.

Guy who throws for 198 and has a record of 6-4 is better than guy who throws for 300+ routinely and is 27-12.

I call it as I see it. He's looked to me like a more competent QB than Jimmy ever has. Why so offended, though? Jimmy was a late switch to the position to begin with, IIRC.

p.s.,...Jimmy routinely throws for 300?

Not counting 2021,...Jimmy's last 300 yard game was week 13 of 2019. Yes, that includes the playoff run. I wouldn't call that routine. Jimmy's not a yardage guy so it's a surprising thing that some want to make this his new calling card due to a couple consecutive games.

I reckon Mac will win a SB before Shanny.

Nah, it's Najee pretty easily. 4th in total yards from scrimmage as a rookie.
Super Bowl.

I see Super Bowl in his future.
