Same exact crowd. Literally. If you can't stand Garoppolo, you can't stand MAC.

That specific crowd only sees 40 time and air yards when evaluating qbs.

I identify as pro JG and anti Mac.

JG is a franchise QB. Yet to see that from Mac. Maybe he will grow into one. He was considered probably the highest floor and lowest ceiling of these rookies and the most day one ready. If I'm taking a round one QB I want the higher ceiling. More power to him tho I'm definitely no hater just don't think anyone should crown him yet.

Why does all Mac's interviews look like he is reading off a script? I don't know if it's his posture, Nerves or both but it just seems rehearsed like he is trying to remember his lines.

Probably coaching, and image shaping. He does not strike me as particularly intelligent. I get he is football smart, but he has made questionable decisions in the past. More frat boy then debate team. He probably is trying to stay on message and it comes out like talking points. Could be the team, of even some personal marketing people trying to keep him on message.

Nowadays even fringe athletes have their own "personal" brand they need to cultivate and grow.

i had a friend of a friend that was a 10k a fight guy in the UFC, even that guy had marketing people…

Go watch Bradys part interviews with the pats. This is how they funnel information out. The kid graduated with a masters degree.

in Sport Hospitality. lol.

What's your Master's degree in?

I think its wild when people go out of their way to bash a guy for going above and beyond what the average athlete accomplishes in terms of their education. Like yeah, he didn't get a Masters in Physics but earning any bachelor's and a master's in that time period with a 4.0 GPA still shows some real dedication and work ethic.

I guess you dont understand how academics work for football players at big time programs. Countless tutors, b******t classes and professors coerced into giving favorable grades.

Then why do so many not get any degree period if it's just all being handed to them?

Because some don't give a f**k. I'm sure Mac put in a small amount of effort, but let's not act like he's some type of genius.

Man, what is it with ya'll and this guy?

It's so damn weird. I've never seen people cheer so much for a player on another team, outside of former niner players.

I was a big Fields fan and that's who I wanted, but I couldn't care less about him now and I think I've made like 5 posts in his thread since the draft. This thread is one pace right now to have even more posts than the Jimmy thread.

Some of these guys would root against the niners if we played the Pats, especially if Trey would be playing.

So let's criticize a guy who does?

Largely due to people who profess not to care about the player but can't stop coming in here and ranting about him. If it was just those that follow Jones because they liked him in college and liked him as a prospect, there'd be fewer than half the current total posts.

Let's not worship someone who does, either.

Someone attempted to praise his intelligence by saying he had a masters degree. Then someone else joked that it was in sports hospitality. That's all.

Then you got offended, took an obvious joke as a slight against your own family, insult that poster and give us reasons why Jones is a genius.

Ironic giving your post history in the Fields thread and attacking anyone who argues that he is anything less than than a future All-Pro quarterback.

You make all the excuses in the world for why he's been subpar most of his rookie season and some of them may even be valid but then you come in here regularly making the same kinds of attacks on a guy who has actually played well most of the season.

At least be consistent. Beyond one Alabama superfan/homer, most positive posts about Jones fall along the lines of "Wow, he's done a good job as a rookie running that offense and making plays when they need it" which results in like 20 responses of "lulz, literally anyone can do that/he's garbage/he's doing okay for a rookie game manager who never has to throw beyond 3 yards/he shouldn't have even been a 5th rounder, let alone a 1st rounder."

The same people who couldn't handle the thought of the 49ers drafting him also apparently can't deal with him receiving praise of any kind, even when he's in a completely different conference.
