I guess you dont understand how academics work for football players at big time programs. Countless tutors, b******t classes and professors coerced into giving favorable grades.

Then why do so many not get any degree period if it's just all being handed to them?

Because some don't give a f**k. I'm sure Mac put in a small amount of effort, but let's not act like he's some type of genius.

Man, what is it with ya'll and this guy?

It's so damn weird. I've never seen people cheer so much against their own winning QB, outside of Steve Young when he first took over for Joe Montana.

Won't change next year. Many from this thread will be openly rooting against Trey..

I for one won't be rooting against. I will be sure to point out expectations, limitations & exaggerations.

That is of course if he even plays. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Jimmy won't be here next year. I can see Jimmy on our roster at the very least through training camp. If the kid ain't ready.....

You mean like the Jimmy detractors in the Jimmy thread? Please no lol

Absolutely no reason to keep Jimmy unless you are 100% sure he will start. His money is too important to upgrading the team around Trey.

Why does all Mac's interviews look like he is reading off a script? I don't know if it's his posture, Nerves or both but it just seems rehearsed like he is trying to remember his lines.

Probably coaching, and image shaping. He does not strike me as particularly intelligent. I get he is football smart, but he has made questionable decisions in the past. More frat boy then debate team. He probably is trying to stay on message and it comes out like talking points. Could be the team, of even some personal marketing people trying to keep him on message.

Nowadays even fringe athletes have their own "personal" brand they need to cultivate and grow.

i had a friend of a friend that was a 10k a fight guy in the UFC, even that guy had marketing people…

Go watch Bradys part interviews with the pats. This is how they funnel information out. The kid graduated with a masters degree.

in Sport Hospitality. lol.

What's your Master's degree in?

I think its wild when people go out of their way to bash a guy for going above and beyond what the average athlete accomplishes in terms of their education. Like yeah, he didn't get a Masters in Physics but earning any bachelor's and a master's in that time period with a 4.0 GPA still shows some real dedication and work ethic.

I guess you dont understand how academics work for football players at big time programs. Countless tutors, b******t classes and professors coerced into giving favorable grades.

Lol they barely have to go to class @ Alabama,..and that was before the outbreak!

I was a big Fields fan and that's who I wanted, but I couldn't care less about him now and I think I've made like 5 posts in his thread since the draft. This thread is one pace right now to have even more posts than the Jimmy thread.

Some of these guys would root against the niners if we played the Pats, especially if Trey would be playing.

Largely due to people who profess not to care about the player but can't stop coming in here and ranting about him. If it was just those that follow Jones because they liked him in college and liked him as a prospect, there'd be fewer than half the current total posts.

Negged. Everytime the guy sneezed during his offseason while battling Cam, this thread would get bumped. He clearly has a cheering section here unlike the other non-49er rookies and that's the only reason for the constant replies.

They're chomping @ the bit while Mac's only concern is helping the Patriots win games.

I'm sure his highlights will be praised and his shortcomings and misses criticized and discussed all the same. The only difference is that he'll be evaluated through the lens as a first-year starter versus a 8-year veteran or whateverit is that Jimmy G is when making reoccurring mistakes

There is 0 chance Jimmy is here next year. His contract will force his exit.

Man, that's sad, if true.

That makes total sense and is rational.

Therefore, zero chance of this. Haha
