Lol at the noodle arm narrative. He's actually in the top 10 in deep ball accuracy this year. Jones has an average arm. I have yet to see a game where I came away thinking, damn if only Jones had a bigger arm.

Having a strong arm is severely overrated. So many QBs come into the league with rifle arm talent and bust out. Almost as overrated as the scrambling QB.

The key point being his arm strength isnt a tool he can leverage for certain types of throws

Deep ball accuracy isnt the same as arm strength. mac jones has a nice arcing deep ball
mac jones cant drill a deep out or squeeze a pass into a small window using velocity...he relies on anticipation

If you dont threaten the entire field a good team will squeeze the middle on defense to stuff the run and take away short routes.

As 49er fans we saw this with alex smith v Giants in the playoffs

NE just saw it against Buffalo

Give it a handful of days and Mac will be knocked off the perch of top rookie QB.

Concerned about Phoenix as well. Hope they get him on a milk carton.

Remember when that group was crowing and said the anti mac crowd cant give him credit?

everyone acknowledged a good game v tennesee

since then?

anyine in that group saying anything about macs recent short comings?

silence is deafening
Whoa whoa, I haven't been in here in a month. He's had a really bad stretch by any measure. The play calling and lack of weapons has shown up as well. We will see how he responds for the playoffs.
Still been a great year for him.

It's ridiculous that whenever people talk about Mannings arm strength they judge him based on his last few years. Manning had a cannon in his prime

Still true , will probably win ROY and a playoff birth.

but definitely regressing right now

Love this.
They will return after he beats the Jags like it's some great feat.

Which is what many have been saying: he's a decent QB in the confines of what the pats do. Play elite defense so he isn't asked to do much, run the ball so you can stay ahead of the chains and call safe plays for him.

When those things don't happen, and the pats are forced to play from behind, it's not a good thing for Mac. The longer the throw, the worse his accuracy. A decent amount of balls have just been too high. It's understood that he's a rookie and I would take that into consideration but he has played pretty bad the last couple weeks (and his coaches understood they needed to take the ball out of his hands in that first bills game)

This is probably how it'll be for him in his career, though no one can say for sure if he will get better or worse. I do think it's a bit unfortunate for him to be in new England & have to play in that weather in November/December. He doesn't have a great arm

Nah, it's Chase, Waddle, or Harris IMO. Waddle is going to have 100+rec/1000+yds as a rookie. Chase could get 80/1300/"12tds. Najee on pace for 1000+ yds rush/75+ receptions/10+ TDS. Jones is 4th.

Najee has been mostly invisible the past few weeks. Chase & waddle are way above the other rookies

This is a popularity contest. The NFL has a chance to name a young quarterback on the Patriots who is the heir apparent to Brady... yeah, he's gonna get the award. Hell, they were talking about him as an MVP darkhorse at one point.

Waddle and Chase deserve it more, but they won't get it.

Who? BamaNiner?

Absolutely not. I honestly haven't been over the top on Mac. I'm pretty far down the totem pole on posts about him. I've been more on the "anyone but Lance" train since the start.
Also, draft players from Alabama and the south. That's where your best guys come from. Yet this regime avoids the region.

No they do not. Deebo and Kinlaw are both out of South Carolina. Greenlaw from Arkansas. DJ Jones from Mississippi. Elijah Mitchell from Louisiana.

We took Rueben Foster and look what happened. Just because they don't take every opportunity to draft an Alabama player, does not mean they avoid the region.
