But I was just using that one team issue as an example given the two Superbowl losses with Garoppolo and Mahomes. At least Kansas City learned from it and bought themselves 5 new starters. It took them a while to gell but here they are. Ours is playing really well too and here we are (run blocking).

They kind of got ravaged vs the Steelers... It's been a continuous issue all year. Creed and the rg have been good. Orlando brown has been not great. I suspect their OL will be the reason they don't advance vs bills
He had beginners luck for a few weeks. The Mac Jones you saw in the last 8 weeks is what this guy is going to be.

Hes a backup.

Agreed. Mac Jones surprised me slightly early, but ended the season as pretty ok and about how I anticipated. Mac Jones will be the darling of this draft at QB that Pats fans will be able to hang their hat on for maybe another season, but after that when some of these more athletic, and more raw QB's, start to catch up in their development. I don't see Mac Jones getting a ton better, maybe slightly, but he'll never be a superstar QB in this league though if he stays with BB and the Pats he'll probably maintain a nice win%.

Andy Dalton has had a solid career. Where its probably going.

Dalton is his floor. Much better than most of the QB's in his draft class.

Yeah, at the end of the day, you've still got Garoppolo, Stafford, Rodgers, Brady & Tannehill vs. Mahomes, Allen & Burrow.

We've already added two more young, explosive athletic QB's to the playoffs this year. But the old pocket passers are still holding on and still leading in count in the final 8.

You can still win a Superbowl no matter the style but you usually have to be at the top of that sub-group. Different systems. Different talent around them. Different reliance on the QB position.

It's fun to watch unfold but we're still reminded, this is still a team game.

And when one part is falling like pass protection, it doesn't matter if you're Garoppolo, Brady or Mahomes in the Superbowl, it's game over. QB's can't transcend everything.

PM won the SB as the PP was collapsing big time. He absolutely transcended everything that game

All it takes is one unit to fail. It's still a team sport no matter how tunnel visioned we get at times for the QB position, especially.

We didn't touch him all game long. 1 sack. Hardly transcending when his OL gets to hold the entire game. The only thing he transcended that game was his own INT.

Now, if he would have won the 2nd one, hell yeah I'd say he transcended his pass protection.

That's probably my favorite comp. Very likely for Mac.

What are you talking about? He was sacked 4x , The OL was on skates the entire game and he was running for his life and getting hammered . He pulled plays out of his ass under extreme duress

I see that as a likely ceiling.

Obviously I was talking about the fast ones that got knocked out by the pocket passers that are a thing of the past.

What Superbowl are you talking about? Mahomes was only sacked once in 2019 against us and I don't think it was a real one (ran out of bounds?). That was one of our biggest gripes...that the officials let their OL hold all game long and took away our biggest strength...our pass rush. Garoppolo was sacked 4 times and pressured and hit repeatedly including to the head.

What? He was sacked 4 times, bosa had a sack + FF, pressure caused an int. Go back and watch again. He was under fire all game
