So then why come to his thread?

To laugh?

I think Mac Jones ceiling is much higher than Jimmy g and on par with Philip Rivers and Matt Ryan even though his pure arm strength isn't great. His ball placement and anticipation are elite.

Should be an above average starter for 10 years at least.

I completely understand that and I agree. Any posturing from either side is just asking to be humiliated in the near future. It's way too early to declaring winners and losers. I'm just saying that Jones is better than a lot of 49ers fans want to admit and the ones that think he's clearly ahead of Lance will soon be humbled as well.

Well putting him in the category of Rivers and Ryan doesnt help. He's no where near either of them... a HOF'er and a NFL MVP, thats gonna cause a bunch of haters to get itchy.

I like Jones and thought he would be a great fit for kyles system. He went to an OC that made Orton look like an NFL mvp until the team revolted on him. But any hype or hate needs to be halted till next season. Teams have a seasons worth of tape on him now, how many niners QBs looked good until teams got 16 games of tape. Jones fell off at the end of the year, if he doesnt figure out something new he may just end up in that Dalton, Pennington, etc mix of excellent game managers.

He was 3-4 over the last 7 weeks of the season, 2 wins against the jets and 1 against the texans. It's funny to think that people not crowning him as anything else but the next excellent game manager is some how hate. In one of his best wins he threw the ball 3 times... by his own OC's design cause of weather. But naw no limitations there lol.

I thought that's what the Lakers thread was for?
I still think Bellicheck could use Jimmy as backup or qb1.5.

Lol so now wins/losses a QB stat again. 🤣

Ahh yes, Allen's 15-30 and 145 yards really showed them.

Nowhere near him? He literally just played his first season. Of course he's not to the level of a 10+ year vet. Lol He's still has a ways to go.

Even still though he had a good year with limited receiving weapons. Matt Ryan had Julio Jones and Roddy white for a very long time. If they get Jones a true #1 WR I think he could be very good.

I do though share the same frustration towards people crowing him or claiming he's clearly going to have a better career than Lance or whoever. It's too early for that.

I still preferred Lance before the draft and I still do. But that doesn't mean I think Jones will be a scrub. He makes up for his physical limitations with elite processing that will only continue to get better imo.
As of right now, Mac is at best the 10th best QB in the AFC. And guys behind him like Lawrence and Z Wilson have a higher ceiling. And alot of those guys are still early in their prime or is just beginning.

Mahomes
Allen
Watson
Burrow
Jackson
Herbert

Those 6 right there are going to be in their prime for the next 7 or 8+ years min. Mac won't be making another pro-bowl for a very long time. Even as an alternate.
In their wildest dreams Pats fans are cautiously optimistic that Mac Jones one day reaches his ceiling of becoming a more durable version of Jimmy G.

Nah...you eiher hate him or love him. No in between when it comes to Mac.

If you don't believe Mac trash, then that makes you a Lance hater and Mac lover.

Its pretty simple

Flawed logic. Assuming he's already hit his ceiling as a rookie....common man.

LOL. Goff IS Stafford. Stafford IS Goff.

His overall point is correct though.

I'll tell you one difference between them: Stafford has a ring.

Like I knew he would, back when we argued against you and the other guys about trading for him. Hate that the Rams win, but love that I'm right.

You didn't argue against me. I would have been fine with it. My only stance was his loooooooong list of health concerns and knowing he'd be way more exposed behind our pass protection. And he barely got through that game with great pass protection. LOL

But he did win it...with a Garoppolo-like 2 INT's even. So he bucked the Goff big game fail label.

PS: The pocket passer wins again.

Lol. Based on what you just said, back to back, you would've been fine with Goff. Which we all know would be untrue. Stop tangling yourself further and further. It's just one you got wrong.

Very good rookie year. They keep re-showing that Bills Pats historic playoff game what struck me is Bills have major weapons around Allen and he has evolved no doubt about it. That takes a few years. Pats don't have jack around Mac imo except some o-line and rbs. Who was the last real outside threat in NE? Moss?

Regarding the Bills they had perhaps the greatest postseason in history for an offense and still lost. What they did vs NE and KC was historic.
